Nick Galluccio, chairman of Teton Advisors.

Longtime investor Nicholas F. Galluccio has seen his fair share of market turmoil, but one thing has remained constant over nearly four decades: a focus on finding small stocks with big prospects.

Galluccio is a portfolio manager at Teton Advisors (ticker: TETAA), a $1.6 billion asset manager that specializes in small- and microcap stocks. He joined the firm, majority-owned by Mario Gabelli, a member of the Barron’s Roundtable, in 2008. A year later, he helped lead the spinoff of Teton from Gabelli’s Gamco Investors(GAMI), and served as CEO until 2021.

I'm like a bloodhound one sniff in one paragraph in one report and I'm off..

BHP among mining stocks with bright long-term outlook, Barron's says 10/15 BHP, RIO, GLNCY, NGLOY, FCX, AA, GOLD, NEM The world needs metals like copper, iron, and cobalt, but investors don't seem to need mining stocks. They should reconsider, Andrew Bary writes in this week's edition of Barron's. Investor reluctance is understandable and yet a case can be made for many resource companies, the author notes. hey have robust balance sheets with little or no net debt, still-solid earnings, ample reserves, and reasonably good dividends. Stock prices, though, are well below highs reached in 2021 and the first half of 2022 he adds. That's a good setup for diversified miners BHP (BHP), Rio Tinto (RIO), Glencore (GLNCY), and Anglo American (NGLOY); copper producer Freeport-McMoRan (FCX); aluminum maker Alcoa (AA); and gold miners Barrick Gold (GOLD) and Newmont (NEM), Bary writes
