Vicor price target lowered to $65 from $75 at Needham 11:09 VICR Needham analyst Quinn Bolton lowered the firm's price target on Vicor to $65 from $75 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares as part of a broader research note on Semiconductors & Semiconductor Equipment. Industry conditions deteriorated further in September, with reduced demand spreading across most end-markets like analog, industrial, automotive, and data center, but with semiconductor valuation multiples at multi-year lows, stock prices in the group are more likely to be driven by changes in earnings estimates in the near-term, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Stoney... I'm gonna make a bold call on a stock, but it may take a bit. Home Depot here at $281 Existing home sales have fallen off a cliff. And they'll continue to stay down. But the consumer is still strong, that's why the Fed is being so aggressive. Well, if people are staying put, they spend on their nests. Of all the retail stocks, I think Lowes and HD are the best. HD has been beat down more than Lowes. I'll make a few calls and get some channel checks as to how busy they are, but for now we're gonna give HD a VZ upgrade at $281 with a December post earnings target of $320
And unlike all the other retailers that are sitting on out of date, out of fashion, inventory... HD and Lowes don't have this problem.... their inventory is always the same basically. The retail ETF's and hedge-fund PM's that run diversified portfolios need to put all that money somewhere, and with the deals forecast for this shopping season, all the retailers are gonna take a hit>> BUT NOT LOWES AND HD. The smart money that manage 100's of millions of $'s and need retail exposure will be buying these two hand over foot once this light comes on. So we have cash fat nesting consumers stuck in their existing homes with mortgage rates off the charts keeping them there, we have worries about Euro-contagion that means nothing to these two, we have hedgies and etf's that require retail exposure with few decent choices other than AMZN... and we have two beat down perennial powerhouses. It all adds up to one thing.... BUY BUY BUY!!!!! You're welcome Cramer. ~vz

Scorpio Tankers upped at Deutsche Bank on strong tanker rate environment Oct. 11, 2022 3:19 PM ETScorpio Tankers Inc. (STNG Scorpio Tankers (NYSE:STNG) +2% in Tuesday's trading as Deutsche Bank upgraded shares to Hold from Sell with a $38 price target, raised from $34, saying the operational scale and spot exposure of the company's fleet is positive in the current strong product tanker rate environment. Deutsche Bank's Chris Robertson also believes the key driver of long-term value creation in shipping is low risk, low debt and low breakevens; he will continue to monitor Scorpio Tankers' (STNG) capital allocation, and if product tanker rates stay high for a sustained period, "the company could fundamentally improve its capital structure, and in turn its breakeven."
I almost scored with Phoebe -- I was on a shoot we were filming her for Warhol's 15 minutes a MTV show and I was chatting her up and mentioned I had VIP tickets that night for Palladium and she was down to go and she had this old hag of a watcher- a granDMa type Italian...oh how I HATE THAT WOMEN TO THIS DAY,,,, She put a stop to it.
I'd rather look at specifics, not the retailer... In keeping with my "practical" Xmas theme, Space heaters, insulation, even bedding and such (ie textile mills) come to mind. In saying practical, I don't mean underwear and Olive Garden gift cards. More along the lines of redirection of cash into practical NEEDS, as the Biden economy stresses consumer spending well into '23.
