Why are Vietnam stocks falling in 2022? In the first six months of 2022, the VN-Index fell circa 20%. Based on forward estimates, the below table (created on June 9th), shows that Vietnam stocks trade on a forward P/E of circa 11.5x. Note in the month since the market fell another 10%, so the multiple now has likely gotten cheaper.

ZIM Integrated downgraded to Underperform from Buy at BofA 07/01 ZIM BofA analyst Muneeba Kayani downgraded ZIM Integrated to Underperform from Buy with a price target of $40, down from $79, citing concerns over weaker U.S. demand after recently having heard a cautious message from freight companies on the firm's June Transport fieldtrip. Large U.S. retailers have signaled weakening spending on goods and excess inventories and this, along with a congestion unwind at U.S. ports could drive a sharp correction in ocean spot rates, Kayani said. ZIM Integrated initiated with a Hold at Jefferies 07/20 ZIM Jefferies analyst Omar Nokta initiated coverage of ZIM Integrated with a Hold rating and $55 price target. The analyst launched coverage of the maritime shipping industry and views those with modern fleets as well positioned to capture "higher, out-sized earnings going forward." His Hold rating on ZIM is driven by a cautious outlook on demand as a result of inflationary pressures, which he says may create enough slack in the container system to ease the current heavy congestion across ports worldwide. Might be to much risk here with recessions...
Having trouble re finding some notes from this am but APPLE said they were exploring manufacturing in Vietnam for some popular products. Got me thinking about Vietnam.
