The Container Store Group (NYSE:TCS) stock soared in extended trading on Tuesday after reporting its “best year of sales and profitability in company history.”

The Coppell, Texas-basedspecialty retailer reportednon-GAAP EPS of $0.46 forthe fiscal fourth quarter, beating estimates by $0.20, while revenue of $305.55 million for the quarter came in above expectations by $25.73 million. Consolidated net sales for the full year reached $1.1 billion, ticking over $1 billion for the first time in company history.

While material costs squeezed margins, management expressed confidence in their ability to mitigate impacts moving forward.

“Fiscal 2021 was a banner year that we believe has established a solid foundation for growth at The Container Store,” CEO Satish Malhotra said. “While fiscal 2022 will be a unique year as we contend with a dynamic macro backdrop, we will focus on our strategic initiatives to drive growth and market share gains.”

He added that the company still has significant room to grow as it addresses a $20 billion market in home storage. Malhotra estimated the company only courts about a 5% market share at present.

  5. The Robots are coming. Now more than ever. You are starting to hear about retail companies that are suddenly over staffed after being understaffed. If margin pressures are forcing WMT and TGT into bad earnings. The next logical step is a metal robotic arm handing you those underpants and Yeti cooler.... The Robots are coming... and these lads knew all about it- KRAFTWERK-.

  8. I used to be a Stern addict. There was a period in my life when I was unemployed (sigh) and I woke up every morning and listen to Howard for many hours. the show often went past 10 and 11am I didn't care no job. It was so on point! So funny.

Howard is another guy like Cramer i guess I should reveal I was a bit of a stalker. I sent Howard letter after letter trying to get on his show-- I wrote him a whole script for Fartman and sent it in free. Nothing. Then Howard greatly jumped the shark and left his wife and made all the I want to cheat jokes flat- now he's just another loser chasing hot tail.

Bob however I love. Streaming Better Call Saul now. Great show.

  9. The Fed is being considered more hawkish today. I think it's just his usual good cop bad cop routine and he will walk it back shortly.

One thing Powell said that no one is picking up on.

I don't have the quote so don't quote me-- But he said something like -we will continue raising rates until it is obvious inflation is declining.

It's the kind of line that floats over you, you knod your head because we all agree but there's a bigger point hidden in there- much bigger--

He could of said we will raise rates until we achieve our goal of 2% inflation... That could be a very long series of rate hikes but he said (apparently) he would raise until it is obvious inflation is going down...

WELL THAT'S A LOW BAR TO HURDLE! WE MIGHT GO DOWN TO 5% INFLATION WHICH WOULD BE VERY HIGH BY NORMS BUT QUALIFY AS RATE HIKE STOP TIME BY THESE Metrics--- watch this for further developments.~si

Aemetis signs six-year agreement with Trillium for renewable natural gas 08:03 AMTX Aemetis announced today that its Aemetis Biogas Services subsidiary has signed a six-year supply agreement with Trillium to provide an estimated 600,000 MMBtu of renewable natural gas to be used as transportation fuel in California. The RNG replaces up to the equivalent of 4.3 million gallons of diesel fuel, primarily used in heavy duty passenger and cargo vehicles. Aemetis completed Phase 1 of the Central Dairy Digester network in 2020 with two fully operational digesters and four miles of pipeline. The biogas from Phase 1 has been used as process energy at the Aemetis Keyes biorefinery to reduce the facility's dependency on petroleum-based natural gas and to decrease the carbon intensity of fuel ethanol produced. Phase 2 of the network consists of a centralized biogas upgrading facility, a utility gas pipeline interconnection unit, 10 dairy digesters and 32 miles of additional pipeline which are planned to be completed by Q4 2022. Aemetis plans to have more than 60 digesters built and operating by the end of 2026 which are designed to produce approximately 1.6 million MMBtu of RNG per year, displacing approximately 12.5 million gallons of diesel per year. Aemetis has completed construction and is currently commissioning the centralized gas cleanup facility and utility gas interconnect located at the Keyes Ethanol biorefinery where dairy biogas will be upgraded to RNG and injected into the utility pipeline through an interconnection with Pacific Gas and Electric. Upon receiving pathway certification from the California Air Resources Board, the fuel is scheduled to begin deliveries to Trillium in late 2022.
