The two-year tariff exemption on solar imports from countries providing critical U.S. supply provides much improved near-term visibility for the company's core solar EBOS business that supports large-scale, utility solar in the U.S., and this policy action is also providing increased momentum for the shares, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Spotify sees faster than expected gross margin expansion, says Morgan Stanley 07:15 SPOT Morgan Stanley analyst Benjamin Swinburne said his three primary takeaways after attending Spotify's investor day were that the company is guiding for more rapid gross margin expansion than expected, its core music margins have been scaling, and its opportunity remains in its "early days." He believes Spotify's outlook includes gross margin expansion beginning in 2023 with podcast losses peaking in 2022 and podcasting break-even in one to two years, said Swinburne. Spotify laid out a vision for over 1B users, 50M creators, over $100B of total revenue and over $10B in advertising revenue as part of an "ambitious 10-year plan," added Swinburne, who has an Overweight rating and $170 price target on Spotify shares.
