I also prefer 5G. Portillo's beef is something you have to eat in the restaurant. It gets soggy as it essentially presented au jus.
We will doordash the French Dip from Cheesecake factory sometimes, and I love the way they handle that type of to-go order. They just put the beef inside the bun and then put the au jus in a separate container. That way you just can open the au jus container and dip your sandwich in it, or you can just dump it on the beef and eat immediately. The Portillo's experience would have been 10 times better if they would have handled it that same way.
As much as I like to mess with Stoney.... please.... I don't want to see him blow his house up... (and himself in the process). Trust me on this one, I figured it out a few years back, Stoney is lucky if he can figure out which end is the working end of a screwdriver. That said.... he does have a degree of market savantness. More than most.
Especially after Baron's damning review, which should send a message to all sandwich shops out there...If you want to deliver a juicy roast-beef sandwich, send the juice separate!
@Baron By the way...You have one of the best options available to you in your area! Publix! Go to the deli area, where they make sandwiches. Ask for the roast beef sandwich on a full hero. They use the Boar's Head roast beef, which is top quality. Have them add your favorite toppings (And if you want cheese, go for American, mild cheddar, or double gloucester). For a bit of kick, ask them for the Cajun roast beef. Man, that is soooooo goood too. Yum yum! The trick here is to warm it up in the microwave for 2 minutes before eating. You will love it. It will feed your triceps the energy they need to grow!
The article I posted was a year and half old. It has nothing to do with anything aside from giving Baron the address. Orlando gets its first taste of Portillo’s — and the Chicago institution is bustling even before opening day By Austin Fuller Orlando Sentinel • Jun 02, 2021 at 11:16 am
