The latest from China. As predicted there is no surge in " revenge spend " The Chinese are much different than the Americans. So a splurge is a movie and that brings us to IMAX. STOCK OF THE DAY- IMAX $17 Macquarie raises price target on top theatre pick for 2023 08:01 IMAX, CNK, AMC, RDI Macquarie analyst Chad Beynon raised the firm's price target on Imax (IMAX) to $22 from $20 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares. The analyst calls Imax the firm's top theatre pick for 2023, citing the company's strong projector backlog, improving margins, and focus on the blockbuster movies. Cinemark (CNK) is Macquarie's second-favorite theatre name given its "clean" balance sheet, "superior" margin and lower rent theatre locations. The firm keeps an Underperform rating on AMC Entertainment (AMC), saying the company remains a "riskier investment" given its rent obligations, higher leverage, and difficult margin trajectory. Macquarie has a Neutral rating on Reading International (RDI).

COUPLE THINGS have my attention with Ceridian. Mr Mizuho has upgraded a $74 stock that they had an $80 Pt on. This is not a case of 'catch up' which I have been seeing alot of lately but looking forward as Mr Mizuho does so well. If you say $95 you might as well say $100. As a result of a strong Q3, CDAY raised its full-year guidance by 1%. On the Q3 2022 Earnings Call, Co-CEO David Ossip said: "We had a very strong third quarter. We exceeded the high end of our guidance across all metrics despite the headwind of a stronger U.S. dollar…I'm pleased to report that adjusted EBITDA was $63.5 million, a 61% improvement year-on-year, and adjusted EBITDA margin was 20.1% of revenue and expansion versus a year ago when the business operation at 15.3%...We continue to invest in sales and product innovation to fuel durable revenue growth while also demonstrating our ability to scale operations." OK so when do these guys report again? The next period is going to benefit from a weakened US dollar<--- The US Dollar is the key metric to be watching now and the reason further gains in the stock market are going to be difficult to come by... In order for a healthy advance in stocks to continue with the earnings we have now... the US Dollar would have to fall again. Any sign of the dollar regaining strength should be met with equity selling.
It's strange that CDAY has over 9% short<-------- Watching that for now.
