Van what I do is go to the Better Business Bureau and see what real people think... GENEREC SUCKS! Sort By Review from Generac??. 1 star 12/15/2022 Do not buy a generac. I had a 2200 watt inverter generator that is now not usable after just 1 1/2 years. Their customer service completely ignored all issues. What terrible experience. They claim you get a 2 year warranty, and then scapegoat any reason to void repairs. Review from Joseph D 1 star 12/05/2022 Do not buy a generac . They will not sell the software required to sevice a generator . If you count on a generac for an emergency or lofe saftey systems you will be shurly let down . There answer to an emergency was call a dealer we dont want customers working on there unit . Review from Julianne G. 1 star 11/19/2022 Too many problems since purchase/installation of our solar/battery back-up system. I have never been satisfied or feel that the system is working, let alone, doing what I was told it is supposed to do. Found out that Generac knowingly supplied equipment to my installer (Solar Installation Group) that was bad. Since we purchased in January of 2021, the RS Snaps have failed and are still failing. These snaps are the inverters that take the charge from the panels and distribute to the house, battery and grid. SIG has been here many times and I have made many calls to Generac for engaging the Generac App to watch over the system, which is not working right now either. Unfortunately, we have been sold a lemon or just a super bad product. I would recommend to anyone looking to install solar in their home to do their homework, especially if purchasing Generac as the equipment. I thought I had done my homework when we decided to purchase this system, but have found that a better warranty is not the best option. Having a system that works is the best outcome. Review from AL B 1 star 11/11/2022 have purchased a solar system from Generac in Sept of 2020. it has not worked longer than it has. all the technicians (who have been great) have quit dealing with Generac for mostly compensation reasons. in our opinion, they are in breach of warranty. the system is not working and there seem to be no technicians to repair it. Review from Jeff C 1 star 11/09/2022 Generac sells a 10 year warranty for their generators that covers parts and labor. They covered my part, but not the labor which was $680. When I asked why they said the warranty only covers factory defects. How can labor qualify as a factory defect? Total ** Review from Michael N 1 star 11/05/2022 Michael N. Just had 3 SMM modules burn out in the last 4 months. Generator is not 4 years old. Almost $1,000 in repairs. 71 year old handicapped male. Now I have no cook stove until 3rd module is replaced. 11KW unit so beware!!! Thought I was buying a quality product but I guess I was WRONG. Bought generator for safety and comfort since left leg is amputated 4 inches above knee, right knee has severe arthritis, 3 lower back operations, last with rods, clamps, and screws. Can not walk. Needed a good backup electrical system for emergencies. BOY DID I MAKE A MISTAKE!! BEEEWARRRE. Spend your money elsewhere. ENOUGH SAID. Review from Guy H. 1 star 10/30/2022 I have two generators sitting in my garage. Both went out right after the warranty expired. Never buying another, and I will let everyone know it! Review from Robert G 1 star 10/19/2022 Found an authorized dealer on the Generac Web site. Contacted the dealer, got a proposal, liked it, gave the dealer $14,850 for the generator, and that was over a year ago. Never got the generator. Called the company numerous times and they refused to provide me information about my purchase, claiming that Generac is not responsible for their authorized dealers and I would have to talk to the dealer. Dealer gave me the run-around and avoided me. Beware, Generac does not qualify their Dealers and their customer service is non-existent. I had to send a demand letter to the dealer and threaten them with a law suit for them to refund my money. Thus far I only got half back from the dealer. It looks like I will have to go to court to get the rest of my money back. What a scam this turned out to be. Review from Mike W 1 star 10/16/2022 Ordered a generator , called them to find they had wrong transfer switch listed so informed new account rep we wanted whole house transfer switch . She said she had to send email and never got it ! So she sent wrong one knowing it was wrong ! And had a terrible attitude ! Hope generator works better than there crappy rep!!!!! Review from Ron C 2 stars 10/12/2022 The prospects are not encouraging. I just had my electrician install a new 10 KW Generac house power backup generator. When we needed a pass-code to set up the generator, I tried to "register" it according to the company email. The procedure got stuck in an endless loop, with the little dial just going "round and round" on the screen of my PC. I called, and fortunately, was able to have someone pick up after about 10 or 15 minutes. Giving them the serial number of the generator, they got me a 5-digit passcode that allowed my electrician to do the settings, and test everything out. It appears to be working. That part is good. Then I tried to get on-line to set up a customer account, with zero luck. On the telephone service number for "Mobile Link", after some loud, obnoxious music and some reassuring advertisement blurbs, a voice came on, and said my estimated wait time would be 11,217 minutes (that's 7 days, 18 hours and 57 minutes). Wow! Is this good customer service, or what. I'm not seeing a whole bunch of 5 star reviews, so now I'm really worried about my multi-thousand dollar purchase of a Generac Unit. Oh, by the way, the unit itself appears to be professionally manufactured, and looks very nice. If customer service would just match the looks, this would be a 4 or 5 star rating, rather than a poor review.
There's a place for those, but unless you're gonna plug in 100 --- 1 mile long extension chords, 8 gauge extension chords at that lol.... omg Like I said... just pay attention when VZ speaks ok? Generac is heading north. 2 quarters minimum. Even without Ukraine, the sum of the parts is worth more than the current valuation. Ukraine is just gravy.
Whiners. You can find that with any consumer product. They sell hundreds of thousands of these things, you're gonna get 1 star cry-babies.
"When we needed a pass-code to set up the generator, I tried to "register" it according to the company email. The procedure got stuck in an endless loop, with the little dial just going "round and round" on the screen of my PC. " ---- case closed.
