  1. Towards the end ofnext week RH reports. It was the CEO of RH who sounded the inflation alarm-- he was the canary in the very well designed coal mine. What will he say this time? Could be a big jump up if he moderates the hysterical tone he had last time.

    RH (RH)

In its last earnings release, RH (RH) CEO Gary Friedman captured the market’s attention with warnings that inflation at present evoked memories of the Bear Stearns meltdown during the financial crisis. As the company sets to report once again, commentary on the health of affluent consumers and the trends in consumer appetites will be critical.

  2. Snowflake stock finally looks attractive, Barron's says 10:34 SNOW It's been more than 600 days since Snowflake came public in one of the hottest initial public offerings of the pandemic era. It turned out to be a winding, nearly two-year road back to the starting line, Eric J. Savitz writes in this week's edition of Barron's. For investors, there's now an opportunity to make a sharply discounted bet on what remains one of the most impressive growth stories in software, he adds. Snowflake shares peaked at just over $400 last November, but it has been all downhill from there. The stock has swooned 70% over the last six months. This past week, shares briefly traded below their $120 IPO price for the first time ever, the publication notes. While still not a value play, Snowflake now trades at a much more reasonable 13 times expected fiscal 2024 revenue of $3 billion - with a growth rate unmatched in software. The outlook remains strong, and the stock has been de-risked, Savitz writes. Reference Link

  3. Sat- Torrential rain. Leak in sun room. Must lift deck planks and paper with something waterproof. Damn it.

Mrs Stoney is clever when times are tough she melts her gold. Twice over the past few weeks she has taken pillowcases up to her smelter and created cash.

It seems to me Pawn Shops also would be doing good business now.

It's been almost 2 months since any analyst has said a word about EZcorp. The chart isn't half bad, the valuation is good. The concept is sound. The only mystery for me are these Loans they do... which I don't really get but the margins are great.

Ezcorp upgraded to Buy from Hold at Jefferies 04/05 EZPW Jefferies analyst John Hecht upgraded Ezcorp to Buy from Hold with an unchanged price target of $8.50. The analyst sees "evidence of strong progress" on the company's strategic plan. He highlights Ezcorp's global growth opportunities, digital transformation, "robust" acquisition pipeline and attractive valuation. The current environment, one with increasing inflation, growing borrowing demand and higher commodity prices, is beneficial to companies like Ezcorp, contends Hecht.

  4. " Pawn loans Outstanding "
    From Seeking Alpha -

    Seeking Alpha

    EZPW Earnings Recap
The company reported its fiscal Q2 earnings on May 4th with non-GAAP EPS of $0.22 which was $0.08 ahead of estimates. Revenue of $216 million climbed by 17% year-over-year and was also $6 million above expectations. This was an otherwise solid quarter driven by the strength in core pawn loans outstanding (PLO) which climbed 38% y/y to $173 million.

The PLO balance is a key metric for the company because it drives high margin pawn service charges (PSC) which represent about 35% of total revenues. In terms, the higher level of pawn activity brings in new merchandise that is sold at stores. PSC climbed 21% y/y in Q2 while merchandise sales were up 16% and 11% on a comparable same-store basis.

So Putin is now weaponizing food.
I wrote back when this thing first started that if Odessa falls, we've got big problems. For one, it would represent a complete collapse of Ukraine's economy. Like 40% of their GDP depends on that port city.
It's almost like Putin's trying to force a confrontation with the West.

Can we get subs in the Black Sea?
"Google's your friend VZ".... yeah I know... but just thinking out loud.
There's that little channel that Turkey controls, I wonder how deep it is.

Either way, I happened to tune into C-Span earlier and caught the former governor of SC who is now in charge of some international food organization.
Basically what he was saying was either we get that grain out of there, or 100's of millions of people in Africa, already on the verge of starvation, are gonna die.
I don't think the guy was lying.
But apparently Russia has the whole thing blockaded.
    Weaponizing food.

    This is not good.
Yeah... all's well and the markets are going higher.
    My ass.

    Ignore the narratives.
We are going much lower over the next 52 weeks unless Putin gets morphed.

  8. Van I'm watching Formula 1 again! MONACO much better than Miami. This is real glitz. The walk through before the race is the best part when the British guy talks to the celebrities and race fans and racers. Out of probably 100,000 people there was one Black women. It's a shame she refused to talk on TV-- looked like a celebrity. We need to make Formula 1 more democratic, we need better representation of all races.

Why has this super charged stock not taken off!

    Buying more Monday LET'S RACE~!!
