  1. Aug 2nd.

Where has the time gone. Usually in early Aug I would feel a sense of relief.. ah the long hot summer still awaits... but when your kid goes back to college on AUG 18Th!!!!!!!!!!!

All of that goes out the window. I basically stress all year long now!

  2. VAN & THE SUN BEAR. Is there a connection.

Astute viewers who saw my China Sun Bear clip thought they saw Van standing there waving.
And I have to agree from the back it looks like Van.

It is hard to imagine why someone goes down the road they do-- but consider this-- Van saw Gaudi and after you witness the master builder life changes for you. Silly things like staying home all day and watching GBA make money, they no longer entice the way say cheering up the Chinese people does.

So is the Sun Bear Van? I think so.

  5. I wonder how tricky the Fed is. If I was Fed Chair and I read this story I would know exactly what I would do to cause disruption in the employment picture....

We’re now finding out the damaging consequences of the mandated return to office. And it’s not a pretty picture. A trio of compelling reports–the Greenhouse Candidate Experience Report, the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking (SHED), and Unispace's "Returning for Good" report–collectively paint a stark picture of this brewing storm.

Unispace found that nearly half (42%) of companies with return-to-office mandates witnessed a higher level of employee attrition than they had anticipated. And almost a third (29%) of companies enforcing office returns are struggling with recruitment. In other words, employers knew the mandates would cause some attrition, but they weren’t ready for the serious problems that would result.

Meanwhile, a staggering 76% of employees stand ready to jump ship if their companies decide to pull the plug on flexible work schedules, according to the Greenhouse report. Moreover, employees from historically underrepresented groups are 22% more likely to consider other options if flexibility comes to an end.

In the SHED survey, the gravity of this situation becomes more evident. The survey equates the displeasure of shifting from a flexible work model to a traditional one to that of experiencing a 2-3% pay cut.

People were more open to returning to the office if it was out of choice
Flexible work policies have emerged as the ultimate edge in talent acquisition and retention. The Greenhouse, SHED, and Unispace reports, when viewed together, provide compelling evidence to back this assertion.

Greenhouse finds that 42% of candidates would outright reject roles that lack flexibility. In turn, the SHED survey affirms that employees who work from home a few days a week greatly treasure the arrangement.

The Greenhouse report has ranked employees’ priorities as:

    • Increased compensation (48%)

    • Greater job security (34%)

    • Career advancement opportunities (32%)

    • Better flexible work policies (28%)

    • Actual sex around the water cooler(27%)

  6. I already sold RELL Ted and lost money on RELL and made a mea culpa I don't see why I should have to do it again!

Van is a changed man and he no longer cares about money. To Van money is but what a primate would wipe his ass with, it means no more than a perfectly shaped leaf on a tree.

The whole vibe at House Of Gummy is relaxed and on point. Did you notice that while Van was away we had our best week? I wonder why?

Van can hold me back by needlessly going after every ideas as stupid. If i wasn't so strong willed I would turn away from my best trades. Other children may listen and they lost out on so much. It' sad really, to have really rich children and some not so rich ones...

But we always need more Sun Bears!
