And speaking of secret recipes... I have also been playing around trying to make NY style pizza dough. There's lots of websites that cover it, but I swear, I've tried 3X now and no luck. I mean it's ok, but it's not what you get there. There's some guy that moved to FL and opened a pizza place down there, a pretty famous New Yorker (for his pizza) but he swears up and down it's the water. Now he is semi-retired, he sold his operation in NYC for a fortune, several stores, but get this... he has the one store now in FL... but he brings his water in from NY! I guess the guy sends trailers with barrels or something up there to get the water. Or maybe he has one of those swimming pool trucks, Stoney's bitching about 8" of rain in Upstate NY, but that's where the city's water originates. I saw a documentary on it. On Fox. "How America was Built". It was all about how they got the water to NYC.
EDIT: I did a Stoney and post on the old thread. Deleted and moved here. So the "speaking of secret recipes" above is out of order. ___________________________________ Hey there must be a bumper crop of avocados, Yulia brought home a bunch today and said they were $0.49. How much are they out there? That seems pretty cheap. So it's that time of the year... time for VZ's secret guacamole. (But of course she didn't buy any limes which means now I have to go if I want to make it. I swear she does that on purpose.) My secret recipe is CMG's, https://www.today.com/food/how-chipotle-makes-its-guacamole-t179918 It's never quite as good though. But Stoney, chips and guac go nice on a cool summer eve with a few G&T's. I could have swore avocados have always been $1. Hmmm. Another good quarter for Chipotles in the making? Somewhere here I have a post that I looked up what percentage of their revenue came from guac. It was surprisingly high. I wanna say they were $1.15 this time last year. That's a big drop.
The reason why NY is so good with Pizza and bagels is the water. Something about it. How bout some placenta rubbed on your body to take care of your muscles? Down and out Biotech gets a lifeline. I have to say the main guy I trust on the market is calling for a 2% rally off the CPI and I disagree. Going against Tom Lee in market matters is like drinking a Bud Light in Georgia. it's tough to do: I REALLY respect this dude.. but disagree> The S&P 500 is poised for a 2% rally this week that should push the index past 4,500, according to Fundstrat. The firm said it expects the June CPI report to show that inflation is continuing to decelerate. "For the first time this year, we are issuing a short-term tactical buy call on the S&P 500," Fundstrat's Tom Lee said. Fundstrat issued a tactical buy recommendation on the S&P 500 for this week, expecting that the index will surge more than 2% to above the 4,500 level, according to a Monday note. The main catalyst for the expected jump higher is lower-than-expected inflation, with Fundstrat's Tom Lee estimating that the June CPI report, due out this Wednesday, could show a month-over-month print of 0.25%, which would be below consensus estimates of 0.30%. Additionally, last week's sell-off in stocks sparked by a hot ADP jobs report that was followed up by a weaker-than-expected employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics provides an attractive entry point into the stock market. "We do not typically issue such short term tactical calls, but given the softness of markets following the ADP and BLS jobs report, we think the timing makes sense," Lee said. Hummmmmmmm.- Well at least Tom admits we had a sell off!
