Canadian energy stocks are a great contrarian play here. They make too much money to justify depressed share prices. In any event, if the sector doesn't pick up, the share buybacks and m&a will pick up and remind people of the value. Next earnings cycle will likely surprise on the upside ( the accountants tend to use down cycle quarters as an opportunity to flush all the bad news out setting up positive reports the next time around; hedging also complicates things ). Nat Gas getting interesting I'm not sure what to think of it short term other then most of the Cdn players have huge earnings spikes if any of it is sustainable ( eg Tourmaline, Arc Resources, Crew Energy, sm cap Sothern Energy, Birchcliff ). Highly volatile area. Gold miners have sold off far more then the metal itself. Normal strong seasonality is July forward.
Good Morning. I had an old school nightmare. I was in NYC on the west side and someone had dropped off my Jeep after fixing it, it was in the street and I went down and couldn't find the key. The guy who dropped it off was driving a taxi and about to leave, I ran and waved him down threw the passenger out and he took me and my wife to find the key. He kept talking with a hugely Irish accent and we went to shady men's clubs in Queens and other scary places and he kept saying" Go indide dat bar and deeve to Kerry... WHAT! Go find Kerry.. It's funny the way dreams work. As you get older you have less of them. Then when you have one it really sticks. Your resting mind activates the dream. I have stress today because I have to call the guy that went through such misery for me getting the damn jeep out of the barn.. I have to ask him if he can drive it down the hill to the service station today. (and walk up the hill) And maintain control of the key<---- I only have one copy.. That key must be given to the gas station guy... So key drama was in my in my mind and my mind spat out this whole convoluted dream with Irish people in bars I could not understand.
