I feel like DIS has been a slow melt up. I believe we bottom traded this or had a quick gummy but I never got really interested after the Bet ESPN thing kind of floundered. and now it's pretty high. This should already be in IRA's/ Walt Disney's (NYSE:DIS) Hulu integration isn't the only news the Mouse House is making Wednesday; the company and allies of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis have reached a settlement in a dispute over Disney World's future development, and activist investor Nelson Peltz drew another endorsement in his campaign for Disney's board. A state court settlement will bring an end to almost two years of litigation around the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, the entity that provides municipal services to the giant theme park. That board was controlled by Disney supporters for decades before a takeover by DeSantis allies, and then a last-minute deal that transferred control over Disney World design and construction to Disney (DIS). The settlement clears a path for Disney and the new board to negotiate a new development deal soon. Elsewhere, Nelson Peltz's Trian Group won the backing of investment adviser Egan-Jones in Trian's campaign for two board seats at the company. Egan-Jones urged shareholders to vote for Trian's candidates, Peltz and former Disney Chief Financial Officer Jay Rasulo, and to withhold votes for Maria Elena Lagomasino and Michael B.G. Froman. "We see very little downside and a lot of upsides in putting the Trian Nominees on the Board," Egan-Jones said, citing the apparent lack of a succession plan, a board that "appears cut off and unwilling to engage with investors and the broader market," an outdated business model and "mediocre" financial performance, among issues affecting the vote. Among other proxy advisers, Glass Lewis is backing Disney's director slate in full, while ISS is supporting the election of Peltz but not Rasulo. Blackwells Group is also pursuing three board seats. Disney's (DIS) annual meeting is set for Wednesday, April 3.
