Volatility watch: Options trading volume is still elevated on SoundHound AI (SOUN) and Barclays (BCS). The list of highly-shorted stocks heading into the new week includes Beyond Meat (BYND) and Cinemark Holdings (CNK). The most overbought stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include Viking Therapeutics (VKTX), Vivani Medical, Inc. (VANI), and Caret Holdings, Inc. (ROOT). The most oversold stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include AN2 Therapeutics (ANTX), Semilux International (SELX), and SSR Mining (SSRM).

IPO watch: No new IPO offerings are expected to launch in the week ahead. The post-IPO quiet periods expire on American Healthcare REIT (NYSE:AHR), Kyverna Therapeutics (KYTX), Telomir Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:TELO), Metagenomi (NASDAQ:MGX), and BBB Foods (TBBB) to free up analysts to post up ratings. A block of Solowin (SWIN) shares will see the IPO lockup period expire. Amer Sports (NYSE:AS) will release its first earnings report as a publicly traded company. The sporting goods stock traded about 25% above its IPO pricing level at the time of publication.

Investor events: A busy week of investor events includes American Airlines Group (AAL) Chief Executive Officer Robert Isom and senior leadership presenting at the company's Investor Day and Mattel (NASDAQ:MAT) providing a strategic business update. General Electric Company (GE) could also turn some heads when it holds a GE Aerospace Investor Day event with the aerospace leadership team. One of the more notable conferences of the year takes place next week with the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference scheduled for San Francisco. The event is expected to include updates on some of the latest trends in generative artificial intelligence and other themes shaping technology, media and telecom. Nvidia (NVDA), Netflix (NFLX), AMD (AMD), Disney (DIS), Palo Alto Networks (PANW), Coinbase Global (COIN), C3.ai (AI), Intel (INTC), Okta (OKTA), IMAX (IMAX), and Iron Mountain (IRM) are just some of the companies scheduled to participate. Meanwhile, BetMGM (OTCPK:GMVHF) (MGM) CEO Adam Greenblatt will be one of the notable speakers at the NEXT Summit New York, which is described as North America's premier iGaming and sports betting conference. Also keep an eye on Rivian Automotive (RIVN). The electric vehicle maker has an event scheduled in Laguna Beach, California to reveal its next-generation vehicle called the R2. The electric SUV model is expected to be smaller and cheaper than the R1S and R1T. The company has hinted that this model could be listed in the $40,000 to $60,000 range. Mass production of the R2 is not expected until 2026.

  6. Van you are really bad at this. You said why not by an Index fund. LOL/

ayyyyy. And then you say some of these Index names might do well. Great!

I'll just cash out $30,000 and place it on one of those names.

Which one do you like for next week.

  7. GBA UPGRADE APPLE-

FOLKS I AM THE ANTI-APPLE GUY. THIS STK THEY INSIST ON BUYING FOR ME OVER AND OVER UNTIL I PUT IT ON A " NO GO " LIST I HAVE ONLY TWO NAMES THAT I HAVE EVER HAD ON THE NO GO LIST-- APPLE QUITE OFTEN AND TRACTOR SUPPLY AT SOME POINT AFTER WE BOOKED A HUGE MULTI YEAR GAIN./

Apple's best qualities are underappreciated by the market right now

(Apple): The simplest reason to buy Apple stock is that it is an above-average company trading at nearly the same valuation as the S&P 500. That's a 27.5 price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio for the index and 28 for Apple.

There are a few reasons why Apple isn't getting the same market premium as other tech stocks. The simplest is its near-term growth prospects.

    AAPL PE Ratio (Forward) Chart

As you can see in the chart, the forward P/E ratios of some of the higher-flying big-tech-related stocks are significantly lower than the current P/E. In Nvidia's extreme case, earnings are expected to double in a single year, which is why the forward P/E is about half of the current P/E. With Apple, the two metrics are almost identical.

If you're a short-term trader, there's no reason to buy Apple stock now. And it's important to remember that stock prices can take wild swings based on sentiment and emotion.

But if you're a long-term investor, which is a far more successful method for compounding wealth over time, there's a lot to like about Apple that the market may be discounting right now.

Its recent quarter featured slowing growth in China, which is concerning. But North America, emerging markets like India and South Korea, and other parts of the world are doing well. Apple's high-margin services segment continues to be a key part of the long-term growth story.

Apple also has very little debt net of cash relative to its size. And it generates plenty more money than it needs to run the business. This is a company that bought back over $20 billion of its own stock last quarter. On average, that's over $222 million spent on stock buybacks per day!

There are very few companies out there with that level of financial muscle to deploy at will.

Apple is a phenomenal business with a powerful brand, streamlined vertical integration, a rock-solid balance sheet, and plenty of capital it can use to accelerate growth if it wants to. The valuation makes sense relative to the market, and that's why Apple is worth buying in March.

  8. People often ask me at the bar-- which TV shows should I be watching to help with investing?

    TV SHOWS-

Bar Rescue- Something American about this show that I really like. Everyone is in over the heads and if you have ever tried to start up a small business you know.

Curse Of Oak Island- This show is a huge buried gold cock tease. I have been watching for seven years for them to get to the money pit. Must see TV.

  10. Folks I could be like every other TV personality and just take credit for this exceptional chart read and stock prediction... but I strive to be 100% real with you all and only do my victory dance when I have actually bought said stk.

The HF bought but for their general fund not for me specifically and I do think I helped in that decision but I let a JP Morgan downgrade hold me away and rather than cry over spilled milk, I will endeavor to learn from my mistakes.

the 24 stock run continues. I cannot claim SE as No 25. I messed up here. ~si
