Goldman Sachs exhibited its 25 most out-of-consensus U.S. stock opportunities for earnings season by equity analysts’ estimates and qualitative comments and their recommendations on options trades.

In a Goldman Sachs Derivatives Research report, analysts said that the top 25 tactical trades recommendations have outperformed the S&P 500 (SP500) (SPY) (IVV) (VOO) by 2.1% annualized, across 1,175 trades and over the past 12 years, “but would have outperformed by an annualized 5.6% if we skipped names repeated from the prior quarter.”

Goldman analysts expect mixed performance for U.S. stocks this quarter’s earnings season as investors are crowded into single stock call options without many incremental buyers.

“While earnings are likely to benefit from the two-month decline in interest
rate expectations, investors may be disappointed as analysts/corporates are typically slow to incorporate these changes in their models,” they wrote.

These are the companies with the most out-of-consensus upside for the next three months with shares that are expected to move. The options chosen are the monthly expiry that is closest to the first out of the money calls and puts.
