One of the big problems is there are many cities that don't let people with solar have batteries in California. They force homeowners to "sell back" their electricity they generate at much lower rates so they can charge them again at night at higher rates. You lose about 5% of that power when transmitting across several miles. Wasting megawatts of power just to line their pockets a little more.

This is why virtually no one has solar in my area. The local power monopoly has made it not only unprofitable, but also impossible, to legally keep power to yourself. I feel bad for all the people who locked in $30,000 15 year solar loans just to get bent over by powerful corporate lobbies.

Sort of like collecting rainwater. The scammers who run utility monopolies do not like self sufficiency.

This is Generac Holdings. They are the largest supplier of home backup power generators in the United States. According to the financial press, when Pacific Gas & Electric started to divest itself of its generation portfolio, they started to sell quite a few of these Natural Gas generators in California.

  4. Pie in the sky. They should instead use the heat from all the forest fires to heat steam to run turbines and produce electricity.

Nah, bad solution. If you burn all the trees to heat steam to run turbines to produce electricity, you increase CO2 because there are less trees to act as a CO2 sink and absorb the CO2. Which means we will start to lower O2 levels, which means we run out of breathable air. So we all suffocate.

Perhaps a better bet is to breed spotted owls in a lab, so we can stop worrying about them and continue to use fossil fuels.

  6. You are correct if trees that are not already burning are to be used for fuel. However since there nearly always are millions of trees that are already burning and the energy is just wasted, it is more efficient and LESS harmful to the environment to use the energy, is what I'm saying.

Ahh. Well, if we really put our minds to it, we could just build a Dyson Sphere. Either that or a Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactorâ„¢. We need a better solution than crappy voltaics and Don Quixote tilting targets.

  9. So if its not COVID wreaking enough havoc on senior citizens in CA then the libtard obsession with going 'green' will surely send them into the afterlife faster than an E Musk Hyperloop......

Those CA politicians should be forced to dig their graves...

  10. Many regulations are put in place by the Government to benefit some companies. In other words, transferring the wealth from the poor to their cronies.
