porsche taycan driving range is abour 200 miles, charing from 20%-99% costs $17+/-, that is about 11 cents mpg, in boston.
Manhattan has zero EV charging stations. It also has about 4 ICE gas stations left. So not the greatest location to make any judgment.
Manhattan, no. Just cross either side of the rivers you have charging stations in Brooklyn, Queens, and Jersey City. Revel has EV car rental, you can see them almost every day now.
It certainly doesn't help we are building 9000lb EV Hummers. EVs have basically become a sociology experiment. There should be so much shame on the person for wasting electricity with the EV Hummer that it never gets built. If we were serious about this as a society there would be social status with driving the smallest car possible. Instead we are building giant EV trucks and EV race cars.
%% I live in cheap electric TVA 7 state region. TSLA is a good co; but i 've never seen actually seen a TSLA or any for sale + no charging stations. So what works in Austin TX may not work for decades anywhere else. And not everyone thinks a ''quick 30 minute charge '' is really quick or wants a limited 200 mile drive range. I like the idea of an electric car for some; takes a lot of fossil fuels to mine batteries + charge them. But we do remember the controllers in CA plea '' please dont charge your car........... '' I also like the way TSLA moved from CA.
in more positive news, LTO cells are allowing buses to be charged in 10 mins in China https://www.researchgate.net/public...-000-km-6-Bus-Fleet-Shows-Viable-Solution.pdf
stop being obtuse. there are many garages that offer charging stations. You basically can’t park a car on the street in Manhattan.
