FreeCell is a good game for checking mental status since it's more cognitive compared to a game where you mindlessly shoot non stop at moving targets

I've had days where I've traded non stop for 6-1/2 hours w/o pause ('08-'09) and more recently, days where it's like watching paint dry. I set my price alerts and when ultra slow, I spend a bit of time each day learning Spanish. I don't know if it will get me anywhere but I have a few Spanish friends and I think it would be amusing to eavesdrop. :D

Web Boggle is good if you're a word nerd and a fast typist.

Try learning to play a musical instrument.

I gotta say: I hate Minesweeper. Get off that damn game! It's so damn frustrating that after spending so much time of careful calculation you end up having to make a handful of several haphazard guesses and will usually get F'ed. I hate that damn game.

I have used lumosity.com for a few weeks now, and I have found it to be a good way to keep the mind sharp.
