Is it really that big a deal that your spreads are anything out to 5pts. I guess if you are a scalper, 5pts could make a difference but if you take your trades over a longer time frame, it shouldn't be a problem. Nowadays it is pretty easy to get a 3pt spread on the majors anyway and that suits me just fine.......

  2. why not trade the emini currency futures on globex and have insignificant spreads for whatever time frame you stay in the trade ??

I guess it all comes down to margin requirements. Spot Forex is just so convenient.....

I noticed at the moment the spreads are 5pips on the emini euro on GLOBEX and 8 pips of the emini yen on Globex. IS it because it is right now a slow time to be trading them? At what points do they tighten up?
Also, I have not really been able to find charting data on the the emini contracts for the yen and euro or the full sized contracts. Where might I be able to find them? Lastly, what is one pip worth on the emini contracts on GLOBEX? I know with spot one pip is one dollar on the emini's. Just wondering if it is any different. I appreciate any info.

    Thanks

    Matthew

  9. hi,

one "pip" is $12.50 on the globex ECH4 euro. the bid is currently 1.2353 ask is 1.2354 . not sure what you are looking at that shows 5 pip spread--- i am still very very new to currency futures and am not sure what you see. i am currently LONG 20 ECH4 from 1.2347 with a stop order @ 1.2349. have a good night .

I am a new user of IB and I can't seem to pull up that symbol. I am able to pull up E7 and J7. Am I missing something here?
