  1. Found this show last night while channel surfing. Entertaining. As Stone Cold would say, Hell Yeah. Actually the new record for this course is 6:03 which is amazing

  2. That looks like it would be fun to try. Once.

  3. Okay, just a quick update here, although at this point I'm sure I'm the only one who cares. After the first 3 workouts during the first 2 weeks, I decided to drop the ~rest-pause-type work as I had described it. I will just focus on taking all the sets to momentary muscle failure, forcing it for a couple of seconds or so while still using good form, and then finishing with a slow negative. This is already a bit more than just going to simple failure.

Yeah, I know, so much for "no tweaking." But every time in the past that I incorporated rest-pause into my routine, it was always a short-lived thing. I guess there's a lesson for me there.

  4. I think it's a net positive to experiment with new things from time to time. Far as my own little change, it's been good. Better than I thought as a matter of fact.
It's been 60+ days since I cut my activity from 5 days to 4. I was concerned that I might see a weight gain, but I'm down 3 lbs. Seems to me that what we eat has more to do with weight than anything else. That said, I still believe you have to work harder up front until you get to the weight you want to be.
Anyway, I also cut my lifting to just one of those four days. The other three are all cardio, more or less. Just variations of time and reps of elliptical, wall ball, kettle bell swings and cable row.
The one day I lift I'm doing bench press, dumbbell pullover, bended dumbbell row, bent over barbell row, pile dumbbell squat and lat pull-down. I have added weight and cut sets in half.
I didn't really know what to expect, but what I've experienced has been a plus. I'm considerably stronger in all of the routines mentioned, muscle soreness is down dramatically, and best of all I see definite improvement in muscle tone and cut. Not that I'm all that cut per say, but I do see improvement.
All in all it's been working well. On we go.

  5. As long as you're improving in strength and body composition and not feeling drained, my guess is that you're on the right track. You really seem to like cardio, though. I hope they discover a cure for that. :D

  6. I enjoy cardio that has some compound muscle movement included. The mind-numbing treadmill and stationary bike are not for me.:vomit: Of course squats and deadlifts will get your heart pumping as well. I'm just more of an endurance kind of guy.

Update on Warren Buffett from interview in the telegraph. Talking about diet, healthy eating, and coke.

"Buffett said he got about 700 calories a day from the beverage “so I’m about one quarter Coca-Cola”, and claimed that he built his diet around “things that make me feel good when I eat them”.

“They have literally thousands of products…. I would find quite spurious the fact that somebody says if you’re eating 3,500 or so calories a day and some of that is Coca-Cola, and blame any particular obesity-related illnesses on the Coca-Cola you drink,” he added, sipping a Coke and nibbling on See’s peanut brittle, another product in the Berkshire stable.

"I really wish I had a twin that had eaten broccoli his entire life. ... I know I would have been happier and I think the odds are I would have lived longer.""

Who knew? If the article was from the Onion, it could have very well been real. All the guy does is eat ice cream and drink soda.
