I'm in total beast mode, albeit old guy beast mode. This wall ball has me jacked. I have added the clean movement of a clean and jerk, done with a medicine ball. Killer. 10 minute Elliptical warm up. 15 reps wall ball with 10 lb. ball. Rowing machine 1 minute. 10 reps dead lift, lighter than usual weight. 15 reps clean with medicine ball. Repeat all four over a 20 minute period. If you have anything left, hit the elliptical again for 10-15 minutes. Holy shit, what a work out for endurance, core and lower body. Max cardio as well. I can tell you that putting this in for the last two weeks has improved my overall stamina for all workouts. 2 days a week of this along with 3 days of weights only for arms/upper body/back, shoulders. I'm liking it. Also going full paleo for the month of January. Hoo Rah boys and girls. Lets get it done.
The statement above was the most important part of your post. If you like what you're doing, you'll stick with it, and then be motivated to add something new to your daily routine, such as going Paleo. Now you may or may not like Paleo in the end, but whenever you do find a healthy new diet you enjoy, you then permanently integrate that into your daily routine to go along with the workout you already enjoy. At this point, your mind will be freed up from trying to find yet another workout and diet that you don't hate. With your diet and exercise routine nailed down, now you can focus on something new, like trying a new supplement. Let's use protein powder as an example. Go out and buy 1 tub of whey, 1 tub of beef protein, and 1 tub of plant protein, and try each for a day or two, paying careful attention to how it tastes and how you feel in the hours that follow. You may quickly discover that whey bloats you out, beef tastes horrible, and that the plant protein is the actually the best of the bunch by far. Now you just add that serving of plant protein to your daily routine and move on with the next experiment. This constant experimentation cycle for the purpose of building upon what already works is ultimately how you become successful and stay motivated over the long term.
Funny you should mention protein powder. I just switched up last week. I had been using a Whey type product which tasted great, but did leave me feeling bloated and it had some soy product in it. I want to try and eliminate that. I went to this http://www.mynaturalmarket.com/Sunw...&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=us_products Tastes a bit antiseptic is the best way I can describe it, but it's not awful. No bloated feeling, yet leaves me with a fullness. So far, so good.
Milk for me ended up being a huge source of allergies. As soon as I got rid of it, all of my allergy symptoms went away.
Hey guys, I haven't trained basically at all in about a year and a half. I am tall and have dropped from 215lbs to a measly 185 which at my height is a bean pole essentially. Anyways, I have joined the masses and cranked up my diet and workout regiment for bulking. The one meal I am having issues with is breakfast. I have been oversleeping a lot lately because have had some projects going on and things late at night that have been making it hard for me to wake up in time to prepare anything in the morning. As of right now I am typically just grabbing a bagel and a big glass of milk and eating it on the way into work. In a perfect world I would eat about 8 eggs and 2 cups of oatmeal, but when I am short on time that doesnt work so well. Anyways, just curious what you all do for breakfast? I could just drink a weight gainer shake with a bagel/banana or something perhaps. Anybody mix oats in with a shake OR make oatmeal liquid enough to drink? I might could try something like that. I need to see how oatmeal does if I make it the night before and then just heat it up in the morning to drink/eat on the way in to work.
My first meal of the day generally looks like this: Sometimes I will have a banana or piece of fruit as well, depending on if I'm doing high carbs or low carbs that day.
baron, how many calorie is this? how many meals pers day? thanx no denying, heavy on the animal p[rotein, right? and, as any thinking human i ask why?
I eat three meals per day usually. I don't count calories so I couldn't begin to tell you. But I can tell you that every meal is generally 50% meat or fish with the remaining 50% coming from plant sources, like salad, starchy vegetables, fruit, etc. I actually can't stand most typical breakfast food. Eating oatmeal and eggs is absolutely unappealing to me in every way. So one day I got honest with myself and completely stopped eating all the foods that I don't absolutely love.
