Yeah, you might have misunderstood the question. I wasn't referring to one of those silly things. Say you were building a 6 string guitar and you wanted to put a neck on it with (i said 47 frets initially but whatever #.... use 28 frets on the neck. How many notes are then available on that guitar? Using the standard western chromatic scale obviously, ie 12 notes/octave. It's no biggie if you can't figure it out. It came up in argument to which I of course derived a formula and won the argument. A patented vz "case closed" type of deal.
very simple formula at that. 1st grade math if one understands (which this cat should have as he's built several) the basic layout of a standard tuned guitar. he's an idiot anyway.
