Is there currency futures for USD/JPY,USD/CAD, USD/CHF, ect?... And if so, are they as liquid as cash forex?
ECN style broker is the one without dealing desk to execute your trade. Market Maker (retail FX market maker) is the one with dealing desk to execute your trade. THe broker or market maker with dealing desk doen't mean the bucket shop (broker who trades against their clients). However, nothing can stop them to do that (it is not illegal as other markets including bonds, future and so on...) and trading against their clients actually makes them more rich since majority of traders are loosers. Thus, if you don't want to compete with your broker for sure, you would trade with ECN style broker like IB, Hotspot, and so on... But you gotta realize that your sucess in trading doesn't come from broker.
Stupid question but can you explain in more detail what a 'dealing desk' is and how that can affect me as a retail forex trader. Thanks.
u tradin' vs/against da house...broker takes opposite side of all u transactions'n'therefore has an interest in u trade becomin' a loser...tricks to shook u out, hunt u stops, etc, is what u facin' on every trade, further on u funds are not safe'n'some brokers try even to defraud u acct. beware

Oh yeah. Shading, re-quoting, freezing your platform, then saying you can't scalp and if you do and make a profit against them they will close your account. It can be real nasty.. Dealers desk might as well be called a "Stealers" desk...
