It's a different game but you can carry over some of your trading experience. So you don't have to start from scratch. I started this month with a Demo account for $50,000 and now it is $56,000. A 12% return so far this month. I will attach a picture of the account since it is only a simulated account. I'm a new hand at FX btw.

At first I learned that I can't trade on a 5 minute chart and will have to trade on a longer time frame. However, I noticed something interesting yesterday and today. The FX jumped big and fast yesterday at 8:30am ET when the unemployement number came out and it did the same thing today at 8:30am ET when the Durable Orders came out. I watched my account seesaw up and down real quick after those Economic numbers. There might be something here based on these Economice Release that could be scalpable on a 1 minute chart. I haven't figure out how to do it yet but will play around with the idea some more.

    :)

    Rezo,

I know you trade from short term (more than 5 min chart), admitted in other forum that you were not successful in scalping forex (1 min or less).

It does not mean, no one can do it, I am successful at scalping forex, and I do not use any indicator (ma or oscillator, etc), just looking at price action is enough.

I use oanda's platform, where euro/usd spread is 2 pips (not in the weekends), and the leverage is 20:1 or max 30:1. I am not greedy, so, I am surviving nicely last 2 years. Other mkts, I do not scalp, I hate making brokers rich (forex no commision).

  4. as everybody talks about currency,
the BONDS are a very similar market, with strong trends
    as well, >70% interbank business.

And, they are far cheaper to trade... $4.80 RT @ IB,
if you know how, you can trade without spread because
    they are so liquid.

IMO, thats better than FX futures !

First of all, excuse me, but as far as I see - you know something but not everything about my trading. If you want to quote my post - you're welcome, but post the truth. I dont trade short term, and I dont know where did you get it from? 5 min? I said it many times , and everyone know I did not trade short term for years now. It didnt work for me, and I left it all behind me. 1 min or less? no thank you. It doesnt mean it cant work for others, but for beginers??? its suiside. I can tell you I dont know single trader who succeeded in it, but scalping...maybe, not more. Well, good for you if its working for you. I have nothing against it. It just didnt work for me. But I didnt stop searching for right style for me.
In the future, please dont mislead people when posting about me. Thanx in advance.

    Good Trading,
    Rezo.

BTW: the shortest time frame for me is 15 mins, and only for entries, not more.
