    Hi,

I just posted the new FuturesTrader version V1.70, which I hope you update to, if you use FT at all, so we are at the same level again.

It fixes some problems which came up, after I added the small mode. Also added a feature in the small mode to toggle the account and trade details on and off. Press the little <A> Button right of the Connect button in small mode.

If you use ESignal the Futures were not requested, as the symbol did not transmitted correctly. Fixed

When you enter a new position, the order to set a preset Stop did not execute. You needed to press Stop again after the trade was opened to set the Stop. Fixed.
Set the Stop, press the Stop button and then open the position. As soon as your order executes the Stop will be set.

    Croc,
The link on your Esignal FT download page is still pointing to ver 1.69, not ver 1.70.

    Hi,
FuturesTrader version 1.71 adds some features which where asked for in the Group and
involve additions to the Trading module. So take your time to get aquainted
with them, before using the new features in your real trading account.

    Let's see the details:

FuturesTrader goes international. Even if I'm a German, FuturesTrader was
until now, a pure US program. Only the US numbering format has been
supported. This has changed. Now FuturesTrader (should" support any number
format, you have selected on your computer. I say should, as it is really
impossible to testdrive all the different numberformats available.

Reverse at Market: As discussed, I added 2 Buttons right of the Reverse
order button, so you can decide, whether FT generates 1 order to reverse or
two. If you select two. FT first covers the open position, then opens the
reverse position. This closes one trade in the statistics file and opens an
new one. If you select one, FT places one order with double the amount of
contracts to reverse the position. Imho, this is the way to go, if you
trade real, but it is counted as still one trade in the statistic.

The tradingscreen has less buttons. Buttons used only when in a trade are
only shown when in a trade

Quick Target from entry: 5 Buttons like the Quick Trailing Stop buttons:
Just used to place a quick exit target order. The numbers can be changed by
pointing and turning the mouse wheel. The Cover at target field, will show
you what limit order would be placed, when you move the mouse over the
Quick Target Button. Press the Quick Target Button and a limit order for
the number of contracts selected (by the Cover #, Cover all button) will be
placed. The quick target is always calculated from the Orderprice.

Quick Trailing Stop: These five Buttons also can be changed to the number
you need by pointing and turning the wheel. If no Trailing Stop is set, the
trailing Stop which would be set can be seen in the Stop window when moving
the mouse over the button. If a Trailing Stop is set, this feature is
disabled, as it would disturb the trailing stop function. Still the Buttons
work, if you press them, the Trailing Stop will be set to the number
indicated. The quick trailing stop is always calculated from the
    Orderprice.

Add 1 at Target / Add 1 at Market: point and turn the mouse wheel on these
buttons to change the number of contracts added.

The add 1 at Ask/Bid button has been removed for clarity reasons. Use add 1
    at target/at market instead.

The Range tool has been moved below the Pivots, as it has not really
something to do with the trading itself

    Happy holiday,

  5. Nice work, I am really glad to see that you are making such a fast progress.

Now, how about a reverse at stop. That would be helpful for those who trade mechanically and know their entries and exits some time in advance.

    Thanks,
    Wally

If you use FuturesTrader on a non US Windows version, which does not use the Dot <.> as Decimaldelimiter, you need to manually update your Tickers. especially the Minimumticksize needs to be set manually, as FT at the moment doesn't know about the Decimaldelimiter used on your system.

See the Documentation re the Tickerbox on www.futures-trader.net to see how you can change a Ticker value.

    Croc,

The new profit target feature is excellent, I like using it. Now, if you had a few minutes to do something more about it :) here's an idea: in trading stocks (I often trade QQQs off the NQ charts) a max target of 4 ticks ($.04) is not enough... need something bigger, like ability to choose between 0, 10, 20 ticks (when trading stocks.) Make sense?

Yannis, no problem at all. In FuturesTrader everything is done with the mouse wheel. You want bigger targets: Point your mouse to the number on the Button you want to change and turn the wheel. That's it.

This works also with the Trailing Stop Buttons, btw.

The next release will save these changes, so you don't need to do this work everytime you start FuturesTrader.

  9. Croc,

I'm running XP Pro and API 6.0 (not 6.1). I don't have a second machine, so I'd be installing your software on my primary machine. I know you can't guarantee anything, but does this sound like I'm asking for problems installing the older version?

BTW, I'm using the older API because the program Bracket Trader has to use it. Thanks!

I have a lot of people using FT for API 6.0. So it should work fine.
