  1. Why don't you write something that would work on several data feeds:

    IB
    ESignal
    Real Tick
    Trade Station

I would pay good money for a simulator that worked on my data feed, (TradeStation) and gave me fills based on the Bid/Ask size.

Now I use PFG's simulator and pay them $30 a month for it.

    Just an idea.

I downloaded the software. It would be very useful if the screen could be simplified to one's own needs with larger trade buttons; check out LiveFeed.

I really would like to, but thats expensive. I now have ESignal and IB datafeeds, so it was natural to add, but other datafeeds cost money for something you get for free. If someone can provide me with an API plus description for another datafeed, I sure would be willing to look into the matter. Perhaps someone with Tradestation datafeed knows how to access it. This doesn't need to be an API or ActiveX access. A simple DDE like you get it when transferring quotes in an EXcel spreadsheet would be totally sufficient.
So I need some help from you guys and ladies, if you want to make FuturesTrader better than it is right now. Take a look into your docs and look for DDE.

Jimmy I suspect you have a 21" display where u use FT. On these it's small, I know, as I myself used to use it on such a screen. But most of the folks using FT have 17 or 19" screens with resolutions of 1024x768 or 1280x1024. I had to drastically scale down FuturesTrader to have it fit on these displays.

Maybe you use it on a notebook, (I'm doing it here) and there its exactly the right size.

  6. I'd love to help with that, but that kind of stuff is completely out of my league! I hope someone will see the need for it, though.

Simulators are vital. You have to have a trigger to pull, and a fill.

    Thank you.

    Hi to you all
    reading this thread,

I have two datafeeds in FuturesTrader, but I would really love to add further ones, if you send me the info I need to add the feed.

I really need your help here. You don't give away any secrets, and no, noone else sent me the info prior to you, so please:

If you want further datafeeds incorporated into FuturesTrader, so that you can also Papertrade first, before you risk your money:

Please take your online help manual, search for DDE or API and send the info you found to croc1964@web.de

    Its easy to do:
From the ESignal Winros Helpfile. A search for DDE shows the following entry:

Data Manager can use DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) to communicate with other applications. You can use this capability to send data to third-party applications (such as Microsoft Excel or Lotus 1-2-3) that support DDE. The Data Manager acts as a server, and the other application acts as a client. You can format, arrange, and manipulate the data using the application’s normal features.
The way you create DDE links varies, so you should consult your application’s user documentation for detailed instructions. For more information, including information necessary for writing custom applications, consult the Advanced User's Guide, which you can obtain from the Customer Service Department.

    See the
list of DDE topics for a list of all the DDE topics that you can use to request information from Data Manager.

A click on the link for DDE topics gave me all the information I needed to add ESignal datafeed support.

You can do the same. Just look and send me the information to get a better FuturesTrader.

    Croc,

I may be doing this wrong, but I can't find a way to simply set a profit target quickly, outside of the bracket thing. Same for a stop loss.

Am I missing something? I think a capability like that would be useful, at least to me. :)

    TIA

  10. Once in a position, you have a "Cover at Target" button and box to select a value.....scroll with the mouse on the value to get it to what you want. Select the contracts in the box above "Cover Market" with the scroll mouse to determine the number of contracts to cover at target.

Same with "stop" box and value.
