Hello, I am quite new at trading futures options and I am glad of the quality option forum and posters we have here. The problem is that electronic futures options are thinly traded and I don't want to send order at the pit. So do you know a website where we can see the cumulative daily options volume per futures product? What are the instruments that have a bit of electronic volume? Thanks a lot.
Have you taken a look at the CME's "Daily Volume & Open Interest" reports? You can get the total number of calls/puts traded for each contract with a breakdown per Globex/Pit session. http://cmegroup.com/market-data/volume-open-interest/ - Tim
electronic options on futures have ample liquidity depending on the product group. ES & GE have good volume. I've traded these options electronically for years.
Thanks a lot guys. What about gold? Crude? 10 year note? Can you get some fills at midpoint without having to spend 3 hours to get it? Thanks.
