McCain has repeatedly said he would like to close the US Guantanamo base, and that the US should not torture any more prisoners. Obama also want to close Guantanamo and grant habeas corpus to the inmates. It seems that the base will finally be closed - that is - if a US president really has the power to do so... or maybe someone else have stronger interests. It will be interesting to see how long Guantanamo lasts into 2009, and if any US president can be held to their words.
