I'm considering getting into futures trading for the low comissions and liquidity. Say I paper traded for a few months and then wanted to open an account. What is a the minimum amount I would need to give myself a chance at being successful? What are most minimum requirements? Thanks in advance for any advice.

  2. Minimum requirements are listed in each broker's website, at least most of them have it listed. Click on the BROKER link at the top of the page and spend some time there. Most are between $3k and $5k.

Minimum amount for success? If you have no plan with an edge, you could easily go through $10k or more. If you have a workable plan and good money management, the minimum might get you going.

  3. I'd add a 0 to that figure. :)
