I don't work alone, I constantly have cnbc or Bloomberg on in the background and for those of us who trade forex, cnbw, Asia Squawk Box (best show on tv) that comes on before the Australian open (6 ET)
there are other websites where people mouth off once you know where they are and who to listen to you are no longer a loner
as a matter of fact, the guy that works a normal job, is probably more of a loner than the guy that trades
sometimes one has to tell it as it is: justtrading you were wrong as far as Ghost of Cutten is concerned. A sincere apology for having a strong ego - not good for trading - does not cost much and goes a long way. As far as I can read through the lines, Ghost of Cutten knows his stuff and articulates it in a very clear way. Some here - including myself - are looking for people who can challenge the way we see things so as to see where we can improve more. Thanks for thinking of others.
Thing is it really depends on your personality. Some people are more social in general and will always look for social opportunities whether their job is being alone or not. Other people who are more quiet and introverted will more likely become isolated. Those people need to actively seek out social opportunities related to work or not, or risk being lonely.
I find your link to your previous posting very true, i feel the same way, further more, you cannot discuss details of what you have done in your trading, not that it will disclose any secret but their suggestions may affect what you do in your future trading, which may not suit your trading style. And also feel weird when people ask me how come i'm not working, and i have to scratch my head to answer them, and so develop a habit of avoiding those people i know during day time when i not trading. if i tell them i'm fulltime trader, they will give you one kind of look
