This machine is well above eBay prices however it's special. Dell Demo/Test unit that was sent to the field and no one ever pulled it back (happens often). I'm asking $200-$300 above standard prices for this machine. This is either the computer you drool over or the machine that isn't for you. I'm asking someone to pay an extra premium simply based on hardware extras & upgrades. Dell Precision 490, 2x X5080 3.73ghz cpu, 2x 73GB 15kRPM SAS HDD attached to PCIe RAID card + extra HDD. I'm asking a bunch above a standard eBay search on this type of machine. Please PM me if you are really interested.
You didn't mention the most expensive component of a server class workstation, the ecc RAM. How much does it have? my p490 can take up to 32gb ecc.... Anyway, this is a super old post but even with ecc ram, especially with the super small drives you have....300- 400 total price. If you want to let it go for about 250 I would consider it. It's not worth what you posted anymore.
