Frosty's e-mini journal

  1. I hate these slow tight ranges... its like an open invitation to over trade....... I am currently up $53 so cannot complain that much, but I would like to see some sort of trend develop here eventually so I can work on getting some bigger scores...

Wait till wednesday afternoon. Then we should see a trend of sorts. Today and tomorrow, I don't think so...

    I agree.

Use today and tomorrow to watch the world cup.

Heheh, today _is_ slow. More than 25% of my trades are QM. (I usually do a couple of hundred ES per day and only a half dozen QM.)

Succulent journal though... For some reason it's the only one I find myself reading on a regular basis.

  5. Arthropod,

Thanks for the interest in the journal. Its good motivation when I know someone is reading about all my mistakes. Nobody wants to look like a fool and blow up their whole account while people are watching, so it helps me keep myself in check.

    Update:
Now up +$80 on the day.. however the way I got there is LESS than comendable..... my last trade I went long at 11080.... I held it all the way down to 11045 or so, wherever that low was..... then by some miracle it came back up to my buy price and was able to exit...

This trade SHOULD have been avoided, my stop was going to be at 11069... I did not enter my stop, before walking away.. shortly after returning I saw it down in the 11050's.. so I froze and just held it.... got lucky.... Need to be more prudent about setting my stop if I walk away...

  8. Yeah I know boro45, but chastiszing him doesn't seem to do any good whatsoever! ... so I might as well just smile and laugh along with'em.

    Best,

    I guess you're right.

I just cannot fathom putting on a position and then walking away from my computer for several minutes without having stops in place.

Just boggles the mind. My mind anyway.

  10. boro,

There are several things that led up to me opening a position and not entering the stops. I work full time during the day while day trading, which if you see my P/L you know why I need to work ;) So there are rare occasions where somethign comes up at work where I need to walk away from the computer briefly. This was one of those times. In any event I need to be quicker at entering a stop to help protect myself from those situations.
