Frontline (FRO) - Can anyone make a bearish case?

  1. I see a balanced fleet when I examine them among the rest. I guess time will tell. Thanks for offering a counter.

  2. So they have only locked in 1 tanker so far. Am I correct in thinking that is probably going to be a smart move, because if rates spike much higher they will have their other 39 tankers or however many it is ready to go.

  3. FRO likes to primarily operate on the spot market. However if you consider the amount of VLCCs that will be off the market and how this will tighten overall capacity, one could argue it's better to remain on the spot market reaping large day rates rather than locking into a term charter.

  4. That is what I was thinking is they are probably better off not locking in anything right now, so they can have as many available as possible if rates move up significantly. I think I will more than likely buy August calls instead of adding to my stock position now.

  5. I am long Jan, Feb, May, and Jan16 calls. When I sell my Jan15s, I will roll them to itm Jan16s to avoid paying too much for theta, etc. I am not looking for huge leverage at this point, just 60-80 delta calls.
