Front Running Predatory Programs Need To End!

Discussion in 'Trading' started by Nofear777, Oct 13, 2010.

  1. That's not at all what the OP said.

It has nothing to do with edge or style. When you try to remove shares and someone sees your order and steps in and takes them it is FRONTRUNNING.

    Plain and simple.

  2. So let me get this straight.

The ability to cheat by getting orderflow, and front running customer orders is evolution?

There is a reason why the SEC exists, why it was created. And right now that "reason" is screaming at it to do something .

Ive traded a long time, and never before, not during the specialist days, the market maker dissapearance acts of nasdaq, the market has never more blatantly been so "small guy " unfriendly.

The fact that I can go to sell a stock and hit a bid that hasnt had a trade in a minute, and have it consistently whack out that bid before I can touch it, is innately a scam.

Not sure why so many of you defend this practice.

Guys, I haven't traded US equities in years - but I have of course followed the HF-debate and frontrunning a good while.

The question I have is why orders cannot be routed to a venue or through a broker that doesn't sell the orderflow - surely there must exist a way of accessing quotes without being frontrunned?

  4. Im going to ask a question and if I dont get a straight answer I'll know you're all full of crap.

Are you direct routing to an exchange and still seeing this?

  5. Its not just the ability to route your orders out of darkpools . Many people dont have that option and or most likely wont even be aware of it. And when I want to come together with that person on an exchange to make an exchange, we are front run by the privilidged.

Sure , in the immediate trade he gets a infinitely inconsequential break over my inferior bid, but over the long run these internal darkpools and flash orders , which work off my order as well as the customers order, chase away the real exchange liquidity.

And in the long run that customer has to pay more because of lack of real liquidity.

  10. I can rout out of arca bats and whatever else exchange I want. I dont, because , obviously I get better fills more often than not.

I dont have an option to rout out of dark pools only, or make it so im invisible to flash orders.
