From prop shops to MM?

  1. I can't offer you any guidance, but I'm curious about specifically what type of job you're seeking with these firms and what your background is? I had imagined that any or all market making these days were done electronically and that to land a job with any of these firms typically required a very specific background.

If you have a positive two year track record I had imagined it would be easier for you to see if you could use that to somehow land a job with a fund. I saw someone on Trade2Win earlier this year who claimed to be recruiting traders to a hedge fund provided they could provide a track record.

Good luck and please make sure to give an update if you make any progress.

  2. Seems slightly off-topic, but curious what changes they made that make their offering much more interesting?

They just have 1 rule now, don't hit the maximum loss and it doesn't trail intraday, only based on end of day PnL and if you hit the daily loss limit you no longer lose the account but trading is disabled for that day and now only just 1 step to get funded instead of 2 previously.

  5. As for my background i'd been worked as a risk-manager for stocks and options.

Actually, i'm looking for some offline communication with people who understand what you do and can share ideas. I've been trading alone for several years and have very few opportunities to share thoughts with people in the same field. And also it should help develop you skills and leverage your profits, but independence for sure have a lot of benefits like unlimited vacation and freedom from office..

Also, thanks other members for advice, will think about Singapore and Amsterdam to start with...

Hi V... If you can show that you make 4% per month PROFIT in a retail account using actual audited Brokerage Statements and have done that for over a year... I think you should be able to get a lot of interest in many different prop shops... in a lot of trading shops... Good luck
