Got focused on that 7% and connected it to the recent change in overnight limit moves.

Need another shot of caffeine! lol

Nighttrade does not exist. Only daytrade.
Look up the definition of daytrade.
23 hours per day is daytrade.

AMP released this notice eight months ago.

The notice says CME SIF outright fees went up from 1.18 to 1.23. So a 4% increase according to that notice.

You are obviously out of the fee increase loop as you seem to have missed the previous increase to $1.18 as well.

  5. Yes I am out of the loop....so WTF is wrong with IBKR ? They should have sent-out a special notice or message to all accounts trading futures. I received nothing.

Also, why is the CME raising fee rates when volume is so high ? Does anyone know what rates to expect at a foreign exchange like the Hong Kong exchange (HKEX) ? For instance, the Hang Seng Index.

IB probably didnt know about it themselves, they dont read CME notices (they didnt read the CL can go negative notice from CME either :D)
Im just kidding im sure they did know about it.

Tbh if you check your Trade execution window in TWS it shows your commissions paid on every fill, so its not hard to miss the fee increase the day or week it goes up.

And CME is a rip off. European exchanges charge much less in fees, around half CME i think.

I finished the day at $189.25 with 40 micro contracts traded. I will get the actual AMP report late tonight. But at $.76 each that is $30.40. My net today should be $158.85.

    ------------------

Here is my main chart. I only look at the ES as my main chart because it has significantly more volume than the other three indices I use.
This is a 7 tick range bar (not a tick volume bar, but a range bar).
The fat MA is a 50 sma, and the thin MA is a 10 sma.
The teal line is my volume study. It is a cumulative delta overlay. I will talk much more about the CDelta later. It is truly one of my "edges."

I use four "fast" charts. In my older journals you may see HA candles. While I love them, I also get frustrated, because they are a calculated bar and and they never show the exact price. So I have gone back to simple line-on-close (LOC) charts. These are also range bar charts.

    upload_2020-10-20_9-59-24.png

I have the range bar size set on each based on the approximate average movement. MES 3, MNQ 15, M2k 5, MYM 5. This keeps them looking similar. I could have used minute charts to keep them perfectly synchronized, but I have been using range bars for about 5 years now, and strongly prefer them.

The fast charts have a 50 sma and a CDelta line as well. Looking at the MYM, you can probably guess how I use the CDelta. It is almost magical...

  8. Everyone,

Please leave this man alone and let him trade in peace unless he ask for anyone help or you specifically have a question for him or answering his question. Making comments on his thread of some general trading stuff is irrelevant, start your own thread with this stuff.

Let this man trade however he wants to and pay however much commission he chooses and work towards his goal in peace.

    Great job OP

  9. I have a 2 questions:
    1) what criteria did you use to make the decision to quit trading for the day ?
    2) when are you going to start trading multiple symbols ?

I decided just today to recommit to the 2-hour window from from the Open to 11:30 ET. I am still doing real estate, and while I can trade and make the offers I need to for my clients, FOCUS is always an issue. I end up doing neither as well as I would like to.

And as most traders know, this activity can become a black hole if you let it. I love trading, and could trade 18 hours a day. But a balance must be struck...

Trade two hours and then release my time and brain for other stuff... But I will stop trading before two hours is up if I have met my approximate net daily goal as well.

I have been trading all four symbols most days. I will start reporting individual trades soon.

As I said, I love trading... Could manual trading be an art form? I hear the music of the ticks. Should I not try to perfect my craft just as Rodrigo and Gabriela haver perfected theirs? Some of my favorite artists. Enjoy!
