Crazy day yesterday. In the old days I might not have survived. 48 micros yesterday. $36 in fees. = $.76 per round turn with the micros with AMP Yes I did $93 gross, but ended with just $56, LOL. Yes, I am eager to get to the mini's.
Kudo for not giving up on trading after blowing up so many times. Your determination is your biggest asset. The main suggestion I may give you is to automate your trading. It isn't that difficult than it seems. And the main benefit of doing this is you can trade while having a full time job, until the time that you're enough profitable that you can quit your job. Being better in trading ranges is one of the effect of scalping. Best of luck, although luck is not really what you need!!
Yeah. It's almost surprising that you're making as much money as you do considering your trading style and the commissions on the micros. You actually paid 38.7% of gross profit in fees yesterday. Have you considered just going directly to 1 ES and staying with 1 ES until you're at say 20K? Give yourself 1K of 'risk capital' and go back to the micros if that goes bust. If you're as consistent as you seem to be - it should/could work out fine. Pretend your account is 11K.
Wow, that's insane. I think anything over 25% should be flagged. In fact, he should add that figure to his spreadsheet....and track it. At least he's getting a good rate at AMP. IBKR is at $0.90 per R/T. BTW: Did anyone notice that the CME raised exchange fees on ES/NQ 7% ? When did that happen ? I never got any notification from IBKR or the CME.
His biggest problem is his small net profit per trade. $2.71 average per contract per trade. 2 ticks net profit, that's half a point. For me a system with less than 1 point profit is not viable. Profits are too small and he will need a very high number of winning trades to survive. If he would make 1 point per trade his commission would lower and be 15%.
