Isn't it usually the other way around? My day trading size is usually 5x my swing trades as my swing trades require larger stops on average. So, 50 points on a swing trade is the equivalent of 10 points on a day trade. Simple example. Regardless of that, I don't see why a trader wouldn't eventually want to combine multiple strategies/timeframes, i.e., short term trading + medium/long term trading.
sstheo I was disappointed to hear that you are taking a break, but respect your decision.I really enjoyed reading your posts each day, hopefully you will be back soon. To me it looked like you were really improving and building up your account at the same time. One thing I think you need to be careful of, is searching for the holy grail. I have been guilty of this in the past. The holy grail doesn't exist, if your current style needs tweaking I think the best way to do this is in real time, anyway that's just my opinion. All the best. I am sure you will be back.
Sstheo, Question please: 1. Based on your prior trades, what is your average reward to risk ratio? Thank you.
Considerations of risk and reward in the absence of consideration of probability leads to a debilitating focus on risk. Perhaps the most crippling mistake retail traders make is an inordinate focus on risk.
Hello Gaslight Capital, I agree with you 100% for sure. The probability variable in the outcome equation really help me understand a lot regarding my trade setup decision making.
Steo, it doesn't matter if you write here or not. It is important that you enter the market every day and get up after a knockdown. This is a heavy weight, over 100 kg. The bearded man is the favorite, in the previous three fights he won by knockouts in the first round. His opponent is a rookie, this is his first fight.
You don't need to ask anyone here to join you 'coz every ETer is a gambler. The only different is the experienced ones vs newbies...
