This is the best thread ive seen on ET in a while. But im sure daddy will give him another 10k to play with. It's painfully obvious this kid dosent know the value of a dollar and he's funded by his parents.
I don't see it that way. It's more like an extremely valuable 10K trading lesson about the importance of money management, for OP and for ET members.
Still too much negativity about the AAPL weekly 592.50 Call trade , but that's typical of ET. Q: How often does AAPL make 1-day $13.00 gains. A: Very often. If AAPL does reach $600.00 by expiry then those calls will 3x.
That's the problem, 10k is just folding money for him. I recommend we supersize this challenge. 100k to 1m in 6 months!
The guy saw a $3 premium on an ATM in AAPL and thought it was cheap in prem-terms. So he's long from 589.50 instead of 592.50... then we post about the div and whoa, he remembers the dividend! It's actually a strong support level! So much for support. I doubt ur veracity, Martin. Just admit that you had no clue about the dividend and disappear. That would be the honorable way to end this. If you can't be truthful with urself you will fail yet again. Call is at $0.50. Net liq is at $1,650. Asystole. Nearing account homocide. The bid is fifty cents and falling... as you broker I suggest you take it.
Yup, 3.30. I am sure we'll hear of this fantastic revisionist-history. Maybe a sale at $4.00 in that new vanilla vol-pool?
hes out of aapl at .81 now all in QQQ puts 86.5, @ .39 x50 lol if markets rally tommorrow and hes completely wiped out.
Day 1: 62% loss, from 10K to 3.8K Day 2: 15% loss, from 3.8K to 3.2K Day 3: 35% loss, from 3.2K to 2.1K I thought there were lessons learned from day 1. Apparently not. Now he's got to make a 376% return just to bring the account back to its starting capital. I love this description of the day 3 loss: "Losses on my Apple came greatly from theta than anything else." Haha. Yeah, don't blame me, blame the time decay.
