drownpruf/atticus is a petulant, querulous, pettish middle aged family man with kids and he is constantly spending too much time on here arguing with all sorts of characters but HE CAN TRADE. That's beyond any doubt. You should read an interview with him in this book, he was literally making 100 grand a day when he discovered a small edge.

Whereas this kid Grutrader is barely out of college and he wants to be the next Paul Tudor Jones without having paid his dues.

  3. Are you sure you don't mean the next Jordan Belfort?

  4. That's disturbing. I made a bunch of cash at my first real job out of grad school (CRT). Something around 300 large and it was a long time ago. You can assume that it went a lot further then. Anyway, there was nothing spent on "non productive" assets. You piss a majority of your net worth on a depreciating asset (Audi R8)?! I had a second account for a tax-sweep and bought munis until tax-day. I knew how far I could push it -- IOW, I think of taxation as an arbitrage opp.

I cannot fathom the logic behind the spending. I have a Cayenne that I bought CPO. It's an IQ test to buy new, period. Wife's family has what my dad used to term "dynastic wealth" and her brother drives a CRV.

  8. I had this at age 23 (dating myself). And yeah, I kept the actual card. I took the LOC at Prime +2% and traded it on Treasury vola. Incredibly cheap source of funding for a 23yo. I had a loan from parents but the majority of my stake came from AMEX.

Obviously long. No way he has the margin to short 9 naked calls of aapl. Once these expire worthless, he'll be down to less than $1k in his account.
