FRM(Financial Risk Manager) Exam and Designation

Discussion in 'Professional Trading' started by Bruto Blukowski, Dec 7, 2005.

  1. Does anyone have this FRM certificate?

    How tough was the exam?

They show only about a 51% pass rate.

The Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) exam, launched in 1997, is recognized as the world's most prestigious global certification program for Financial Risk Managers. The FRM measures a candidate's ability to dynamically manage financial risk in real-world settings.

  2. How does this compare to a CFA?

    Are they comparable?

Is this something you would put on your resume?

Would it help in making it in a hedge fund?

Just wanted to bump this to see if there are any opinions out there.

Seems to be a few new designations making the rounds, this being one of them.

This one would seem to be a hell of alot more useful in the trading/hedge fund world than the CFA.

  4. One of the guys I work with has the FRM and writes study materials for this designation. If you want to e-mail me, I'll see if I can get more info for you. He's having a baby today so it may take a little while for me to get you more info.

It was a LOT more difficult and quantitative than CFA but I passed.
