@hirtop Just to answer some of your initial questions...it seems as if when you had three weeks of winning trades you recognized certain behavioural patterns and market dynamics which changed, so you are no longer making money using the same technical setups. Bc you said you are moving stops, i would probably guess that your trade setups are prob a bit too discretionary at this stage so perhaps it is wise that you go to paper trading for a bit. Also es, cl and forex are all completely different markets....i would imagine that the pivots you are trying to pick on your 5 min charts wont work the same for es as in cl..moreover you are playing in markets that are heavily algo'd and/or dominated by momentum models... that is all i can say for now bc i cant really see how you are entering/exiting....
For the way you are trading using pure price action...you would probably need to use different pivot parameters and time frames for the respective market. Lastly, as i explained to another person via pm Do not hedge with options....whenever you use a derivative of some sort you lose edge in the valuation process...i know this goes against everything you read in the bookss but trust me...moreover you just turn the position into an implied volatitity trade.
Balls of gold, That which you post in your background suggest you have the resume of one who should be listened to. Care to share your track record? I find this is much more meaningful. Thank you good sir/madam.
hi Nursebee, from what I have read on the forum in the years I have been a passive member, there are people on here who are smarter than me and probably better traders than me in the quintessential sense.... in that sense I am nothing special, but not everyone can teach. given that I am not seeking credibility from this forum in anyway, it serves me no purpose to post a track record. especially when I have to interface with investors, exposing myself here will absolutely destroy my career.
HI, i am a aspiring trader. I looking for a good platform, but i am undecided between OAnda and IG. What do you think about these platform?
so I did a proper market scan in consideration of the point you have made, and in certain markets, the more illiquid ones...you are 100% correct that one should stay away from cfd's especially with shorter term strategies...bc the benefits don't outweigh the tax savings...when the bid/ask is wide, your holding period really becomes a huge factor.... I guess bc I mainly did the liquid ones like fx, gold where the bid/ask spread was tight enough in consideration of the daily volatility, I didn't take into consideration the other markets...
