    I'm researching this a little further, but found the following table of TWS API error codes
    Would you please check and confirm the IB account you're accessing is enabled for the specific symbol?
    (I know that the edemo/demouser supports a small group of symbols)

    Having problems also enter IB futures symbols.

    I enter into vtick: ES;FUT;USD;2007 MAR;

    But an error is reported.

    The interface for entering symbols is not very intuitive. There should be a tutorial.

    EDIT: after putzing around I figured things out.
