Free Panera sandwiches ruining a neighborhood

  2. That would bascily be a food pantry. You tell'em on the southside, you can pay or eat for free, you won't see many paying customers. Lot's of hungry customers, just none with any money. :eek:

  3. There is an easy way for the community to respond to Panera's attack on it, which is hoiw I would view it. Just have everyone who objects to the store go in there, order stuff and take it for free. They say paying is voluntary. Teach them a lesson about how absurd that is.

    This is freakin' Chicago, home of unrestrained capitalism. Panera is insulting the very ethos of the city with its socialist experiment.

    Many cities have similar problems brought on by dogooders who bring in food vans to feed the "homeless." Only they do it in areas where the homeless have no business being, like downtown business areas. In effect, they act as a magnet to draw them in. Whether it is by Aulinsky design or just unintended consequences, the result is that they end up making parks unuseable for the people who are paying for them.
