    Hi Brandonf, hi Et'ers

I just found this thread right now and would like to participate. So please tell me what to do next.

If I may, I'd express my complete agreement with the person advising you to go on vegie diet: it does cure almost everything if taken seriously. And without the negative side effetcts.

    take care

I've been "basically" a vegitarian now for about 8 years. My ex, Toni Hansen, had been one since she was about 13, and so during the 12 years we spent together if I didnt want to cook my own food it would be Veggies, with the exception of fish which she did not mind cooking. So, for the most part my diet is heavy on fresh fruits and veggies, a bit of fish, a lot of Turkey, some eggs and milk and a few times a year I'll splurge on a steak or some BBQ ribs, but not that often.

As far as the mentoring goes, it looks like Paltalk has not had any major objections, so unless there are some major objections I'll get going with that one and hopefully have something up soon.

I'd like to repost a "report" from my Rational Thoughts thread here so that those of you who will be partaking in my mentoring group can have something of an idea about what I do. I'd also suggest you look @ my blog which is located at www.brandonfredrickson.blogspot.com. It's free and I anticipate it always being that way.
Attatched you will find a chart of Lindsay Corp which trades on the NYSE under the ticker Symbol LNN. Lindsey manufactures self propelled irrigation systems for the global agriculture industry. This is a group that, obviously, as world populations continue to grow, and the ranks of the middle class explode, is a very in depend group and area.

When I look for a stock to buy or sell I always start off with a chart. For the first six and a half years of my trading career I was a 100% technical trader, and while I now incorperate a lot of fundamental analysis (Anthony) into what I do, T/A remains by far my strongest skill. Each evening I will download TC2000 data onto my computer and scan through the 2000/2500 most actively traded issues of the day. This gives me a good broad look at the market, something you wont get looking at only a few setup based scanned patterns, or even by looking at the indexes themselves. What I'm always looking for is relative strength in an upmarket and relative weakness in a down market. Once I have isolated that I start watching for patterns to show up that give me clues about what a stock might be doing.

We can see here on LNN that on March 19th it had a HUGE up gap. That gap was not filled, which is very important. Most gaps try to fill in, those that do not often represent the very strongest names in the market. A few days after its large gap LNN did what most stocks will do in this type of situation and it rested. Stocks can rest in a variety of ways, they can trade sideways, or slightly down (such as LNN did) forming a flag. This high level and very tight flag that LNN formed is one of the very strongest patterns you are likely to see.

After I look at the chart I want to have a basic look at the fundamentals. In this case I see that LNN is part of an industry that is having a global expansion due to fundamental shifts in world population trends that are likely to continue. The stock has had solid earnings and revenue growth going back the last three quarters. The most recent qtr saw EPS increase by 276%, which is well above the 25% I like to see. Not only is EPS growing nicely but this is a company with very little debt, decent cashflow and a respectable 12% return on Equity. So, when I combine these things with the technical I have a picture I like IF the stock confirms my opinion is a valid one.

For me the only way for a stock to prove its validity is to trigger an entry. In the case of LNN I had my buy order placed above 103.50 and had an average entry of 104.11. In more "ordinary" market conditions I'd be inclined to give a stock like this a lot of room to move around once I got in, but in the case of LNN that was not the case. My first concern came about on the very day I bought the stock in that volume was not all that heavy. Yesterday the stock started off very strong, but pretty quickly turned to the downside and triggered my trialing stop loss around 109.50.

  4. Being a vegetarian does not cure anything. If what you said is true hospitals would be giving you veggies when you get sick instead of medicines. Being a vegan is definetely better than the average persons diet in U.S. But white meat in moderation is not unhealthy.

  5. How do you go thru so many stocks everyday? Im trying to use relative strength more into trading also, but how do you use relative strenght and relative weakness everyday?

This is my job, it's what I do and all I got. After the market closes I take about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes to relax and unwind, then its back to work. Often I do not finish until well after midnight. I get up each morning around 530 and start working at around 615. So many people make the mistake of thinking that the period when the market is open is when they work. I do not see it that way at all. To me the time before and after the bell is by far the most important, its like practice before a game. Given that I spend so much time looking at stocks, charts, reading news and talking to people I tend to stumble upon a good number of ideas over the course of time.

It's just work. I know that someplace out there is another psychopath like my partner Anthony who's also spending 90+ hours per week on the market. I've never thought I was the smartest guy out there, but I do have a work ethic and that helps me out a lot. It doesnt leave much time for a social life though and even Toni, who is herself a trader, we could not make the relationship work and one reason was the huge amount of time I spend searching, talking and reading...but not to or with her.

Just a quick update here. I orginally made the offer to mentor I think three people. For the last year, year and a half close to half of my posts on ET have been smart ass, snarky crap in the Poltical and Chitchat threads that are really of no value to anyone. So, given that I kinda figured Id be lucky to have 10 people reply and it would be pretty easy to pick 3 out of that group. In actuality I've had over well 100 requests to be in the group, and I really can't think of a way to pick who is worthy out of 100 people. There are some people, such as those who are still in college who I want them to finish that, the second biggest regret of my life is not getting my degree when I could have and should have, and I don't want to see others make that mistake. All of you who are in college and still wanting to do this when your done, you can contact me @ that point if your still interested. I'd suggest trying to get a job in NY on the street though, in which case you really wont need me.

So anyway, now to the heart of the matter. I just really can't pick who to say yes or no too. That does not mean that once the mentoring starts up if I think your a fool I wont kick you out, I did that to plenty of paying clients in the past who I thought were wasting both their time and mine, but initially I'm going to give everyone a chance. That leaves the issue of finding an appropriate forum to do this. I might break it up into three of four groups so that the quality of the group does not slide downhill, and also to make it easier to accomadate various scheduals that people have. I'm going to get ahold of some people @ different brokerage firms etc and see what they might be able to work out for me. The mentoring is definatly going to happen unless I'm struck dead by lightening, which aint likely because I hardly ever get out of the house :)

Anyway, I'm going to be looking for a format to present the program in, and hopefully find a sponsor for it as well. If I don't find a sponsor we will figure something out.

This weekend I'm going to go visit my grandmother. She's been pretty sick with heart, lung and diabities issues for the last several years. Each time winter rolls around we all figure it'll be the end of her, but she's still hanging on. At any rate, I talked to her this morning and she's having a rare moment where she feels very good and healthy, I also feel the same myself, so I'm going to take the opportunity to go see her, probably be back Sunday afternoon after she drags me to church.

I want to make it clear that this is not a part of a commercial product on my part. I have nothing to sell unless you qualify to invest with me. All of your info will stay with me, there will not be a sales pitch (coz as I said I have nothing at all to sell).

    I'll post again on Sunday
