Thanks... It's been frustrating this afternoon. No follow through. Always trade with caution the last hour, Tues-Fri of options expiration week. I would urge you to keep a log of your trades including time of entry, max favorable excursion and max adverse excursion. As the range has been contracting, you'll notice there has usually been one decent trade during the first hour...chop...chop...chop...and then some trendiness during the last hour (not today though).
If I'm not able to get a 1000 tick chart on my platform, should I not attempt the first cross? Or, will I just have to "anticipate more"? Thanks!
I would be reluctant to day trade the ES using minute bars and the first cross. The 1000 tick bars are working very clearly for me. As you'll see in a previous post, the first cross is describing a particular price action. Before you use the first cross, make sure that it is describing the price action properly, as laid out in a previous post. If the first cross is not coinciding with this price action, then don't use it.
Thanks for this thread, DonKee. Excellent strategy. Also, LBR's lecture and PDF mentioned earlier are the best things I've experienced from her so far (including 2 live presentations at the NY Expo).
I have one if you don't mind. have you tried other CBOT or CME markets like ZN, currencies, NQ,YM with this method ? BTW ,thanks for the great contribution !!
