for stocks and options you can use http://www.scottrader.com/ the demo version doesn't require to open an account. the data is real time although they are notorious for inaccurate quotes, so stay on your toes with this quote source, if you choose to use it.
Yes I too agree....scottrade I had bad experience with options with them ....your buy limit order gets filled only when the market goes down and your sell limit order gets filled only when the market goes up higher.
