Free Charts in QuoteTrader

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by QuoteT_Brent, Apr 24, 2007.

  1. Hi Seasideheights,

    Thanks for your post.
QuoteTrader is FREE, will stay free, and offers free depth of market (DOM), single-click trade and order management, and pre/intra/post-trade decision support via free charts and quote windows.
The product is a C++ application, which many customers have reported provides more flexibility than browser-based solutions.
The product's development and maintanence is supported by banner sponsorship.
So you have no additional exchange fees and no software fees.
Many have reported that this is an ideal complement to the trading and decision support provided by their brokers.
If you'd like a demonstration, please contact me at
    trading@mail.esignal.com

    Any feedback is much appreciated,

    Brent

A nice feature of QuoteTrader (QT) is that it can run on multiple brokerage data feeds at the same time. So you can have a e-mini chart and quote window being fed from Interactive Brokers and a MSFT stock chart being fed from Ameritrade both up on the screen at the same time in QT. No need to switch back and forth from one brokerage to another. Most active traders have 3 or more brokerage accounts to manage.

QT supports nine execution or brokerage feeds currently with more being added. We would like to hear from users which other brokerage feeds they would be interested in, or tell your broker you would like them to support QT.

Besides IB and Ameritrade who have backfill data for the charts, QT supports Patsystems, MB, CyberTrader, FXCM, GAIN, Oanda, and LindXpress.

QuoteTrader is FREE to users because it is a product of the Quote.com web site business we run that is supported by advertising revenue. QT will be launched on the Quote.com web site in a few weeks.

    I have some questions:

Having read the other posts, it seems that QT doesn't work with Windows 2000. Is it true? I am from Europe

I use Strategy Runner (Pats feed) with RCG real 3 (server name)
How do you establish the connection?

Using Pats data feed, QT will provide a data backfill? How?

    Thanks

  4. Hi Ares,

We tested the most recent build, which included free charting, and found some issues expected to be resolved in May.
The earlier DOM-only version (no charts, but includes dynamic depth, single-click order entry, bracket trades, etc.) can be downloaded and installed from here:
    http://pmd.esignal.com/quotetrader/builds/qtrader.724.exe

For clients whose brokers don't provide backfill, we'll be implementing a solution.

Send me an email and I'll forward instructions on configuring to pats.
Let me know if you have any other questions, or would like a demo.

Thanks for your post, any additional feedback would be much appreciated :)

  5. Brent, are you guys considering a paid version without advertising? I would never use a software with banners all over it, even if it's free.

  6. Hi Makloda,

Thank you for raising that subject.
QuoteTrader's DOM and Account manager will be available without ads for eSignal subscribers when it's integrated into eSignal, planned for later this year.
This will allow eSignal subscribers to benefit from the DOM's single-click order entry, trade management, liquidity and price discovery tools without foregoing monitor space currently reserved for QT's sponsors who support its development and maintenance.

As a standalone application, QuoteTrader is FREE, and its trading and order management to scores of brokers will remain free, along with free decision support tools like free charts, quote window and portfolio management, etc..

Finally, as an open question to all, which broker or trading service provider ("TSP") best meets your needs?

Thanks again for the question, Makloda,

Any chance you will be adding FREE CHARTS for those with MB Trading accounts since they now have historical data (10 years for day/week/month and 8 months for 1/5/15 mins and 8 days for tick)?

    Thanks

  9. Hi Ares,
We're expecting that in next week's build. Once it's been internally tested, I'll send you a PM.
    Thanks for the prompt :)

  10. Hi Ares,
    Thank you for the post.
I've checked with them, and it's not yet available via their API.
That being said, once it is, we'll schedule the development work necessary to extend QuoteTrader's FREE Charting to those clients.
Feedback on the free charting from clients of IB and TD AMERITRADE, has been enthusiastic and positive, so we're excited to expand those decision support tools to more of our clients as well.

Let me know (email) if you'd like a PM when I get more information.

    Thanks again,

    Brent
