how about some respect for all of us? These guys opened Pandora's Box. They thought they were smarter and more entitled than the rest of us. 50,000,000,000!!!! that's what these knuckleheads cost us, and that's just Fannie and Freddie. So, they do their deed, and destroy the lives of millions of people. Why do you think these everyday guys are shooting their families for? they lost it all. They have no hope. Do you see any of these fianancial execs stepping up to help community outreach groups? You can kill a man without stopping his heart. You can steal his hope, his dignity. Today, I helped a man save his house. He was an employee of a company that has been naked shorted to death, and let go because they can't afford to keep him. Two kids. Wonderful kids. Scholars, athletes. The boy was refused his honor awards last year at his Catholic School because his father was behind 600 bucks in tuition. A lot of people just looked the other way. I'm seeing a lot of that, and I don't understand it. I know what "friend" means. You don't get that many real ones in life, and there is no better purpose or feeling that helping one. This guy, I've never met face to face. But I had to step up. And why? Because of graft and fraud. This guys kids will remember this mess their whole lives. It'll be with them in a dark way, and maybe they'll be able to see the stength, morality and purpose their father showed. I got his calls and messages weekends when he was afraid to even tell his family there were out to be evicted. And why did this happen? This CFO lived in opulence. We didn't commit suicide. We defended our position, our families, our friends. And we continue to do it. I stand by what I say.
Suicide? What a pussy. No wonder Freddie-Mac is in trouble. Run by pussys who could not or would not stand up to the politicians and cannot/will not face the consequences of their actions. I can't wait to see Maxine Waters, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd doing the perp walk and doing their time in Club Fed. Maybe some convicted stockbroker will stab Barney in prison. I've always been a glass half-full kind of guy.
I don't really think their is sufficient information to make judgments yet. The only fact is that a man died.
To anyone who is so flip and full of bravado, I happen to know a good friend of this man (I just found out 20 minutes ago), and his family, church and entire neighborhood are absolutely devastated, as he did more for his community than 99.99% of anyone here. All the tales of 'opulence' and 'misdeeds' simply aren't true. He was caught up in a company that had a systemic problem, and he wasn't the cause of it. If you don't know the back story, you should at least refrain from making incredibly insensitive remarks.
I respect your posts, so I'll respect what you say. My condolences to the family. *** Although money appears to be everything if you're from a certain class or background in this country, belive me, it amounts for very little that really matters in life. And no matter what the situation is, one can always recover from devasting losses of it (even if it means making a whole new life for yourself). Blessings
http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2009/04/delinquencies-rising-at-fannie-freddie/ Used to be a standard joke in brokerage industry. When a broker would off himself, it was because he lost "HIS" money. No broker kills himself over his customer's money.
One of the fathers in my kid's homeroom killed himself last month. Neighborhood is middle to upper middle class.
