Yeah, he did great at reading a speech from a teleprompter that criticized Obama reading a speech from a teleprompter. What's up with that coughing though? Give that man a glass of water beforehand.
I agree. But he wasn't so much coughing as continually clearing his throat. Lieberman did a lot of that, too. (Perhaps bullshit contributes to phlegm buildup.) Of course Thompson read from the teleprompter. But strictly on style, cadence, pitch and all that, he did it better than the other speakers at the convention. And yes, I did catch the irony of his teleprompter remark. Admittedly, as these things go, his tribute to McCain was pretty good.
Exactly The guy's been both a trial lawyer and a Senator, but the best that can be said about him is that he's sometimes a decent actor. Reminds me of Reagan.
